Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

Not a Flame, just a voice of reason, because I am shocked at how poorly made the TP is: I have two accounts with TP's on them. I started with the Hitachi G1000 (the very first WM Smart Phone). I had ONE of these and when it died I was upgraded to the HTC Wizard (Sprint 6600). I had ONE of these. When the 6600 died I was upgraded to the Sprint 6700. I had ONE of these. It lasted two years. When the 6700 died I was upgraded to the 6800 (Sprint Mogul). I had the first one for 18 months. I had the second one for three months and then it died. My wife liked the 6700, so I bought her one off ebay. It last 11 months. When it died she was upgraded to a Touch Pro. When my 6800 died i was upgraded to a Touch Pro. I have since had 6 Touch Pro's. My Wife has had 5 Touch Pro's. See the history here? Touch Pro's are defective

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Has anyone tried the reapair center/sprint store in Northridege California?
Honrstly, the reps in that store suck and are full of it. Last month when I took my Tohch Pro to get my keyboard fix, they told me I had to leave the phone with them for the whole day and pick it up the next day around 2:00 pm. I was so fuc*** pissed but I was cool if they actually fixed it. (Note; I took the phone in the morning not when the store was about to close) Anyways, I come pick it up and I had to wait 1 hour just for the rep to return the phone. (I was like wtf) So after they call my name the guy is like "Hi Mr. Erick, we have some good news and some bad news. Which would you like first?" I said the good news. Rep: "Well the good news is that we were able to fix your keyboard but the bad news is that you have to pay $120. I was like " Wtf, $120 for a known hardware issue plus it is still under 1 year warranty. I can break it and call Asurion and they will ship me a new Touch Pro for $100) Rep says: " Well Mr. Erick, your account says that you do not have TEP. At this point I was really mad, I said can I speak to the manager?). Rep; Yeah one moment, he is helping other customers. It took me 20 more min to talk to the manager. At the end, manager lied to me saying that there was some issues going on with peoples accounts and bla bla bla. I left the store wit my fixed Touch Pro. Know about a month later, my keyboard is having issues again and the mic sounds like poop. Im just going to wait till the damn keyboard dies. (Sorry for any mistakes, typing from an Ipod) |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
If this phone has been their most problematic ever you would think they would offer a one time upgrade credit to move people off of it onto something else. At least they are replacing the broken ones with a newer model.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Yesterday I gave Sprint customer service a call to see if I could get my touch pro replaced over the phone to avoid going to a store. I told the csr that I was having problems with my screen. She issued me a ticket number to go to a local sprint store, as they have to verify the screen issues before issuing me a replacement.
I had to leave my phone at the store for an hour, and when I returned the had updated the rom and claimed that this new software was a cure all fix for every issue I had mentioned. I wasn't going to leave so easily so I complained to the tech at the store that I didnt want to be without a phone on vacation and basically demanded that it be replaced. During this conversation I tried to convince him to order me a touch pro 2 instead, as I was sick of the issues I had been having with my touch pro. He didn't want to give me an upgrade, so I asked him to make sure that my replacement was a new phone (mostly out of spite). When the tech came back to the help desk, he had a smirk on his face. They ran out of touch pros at the local warehouse, so he had to order me a touch pro 2. So I got my touch pro upgraded for free to a touch pro 2. |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
I only pay $1500 a year form phone service so I kinda wonder who is stealing from who. especially since Americans pay more for cell sevice than any were else in the world. I'm just saying thats all.

Just dropped off my TP at the sprint store in Pasadena. I'm going back in half an hour or so. Let's see what happens.. My screen had this weird rotation issue where portions of the screen was landscape and others were portait.. I dunno how to explain LOL! LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS! (NEW TP2 PLOX!) (pardon my typing )

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
I hate when people say "upgrade"
You didn't upgrade. Upgrade is when you sign a 1 or 2 year contract and pay for a phone.
