Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Yesterday I gave Sprint customer service a call to see if I could get my touch pro replaced over the phone to avoid going to a store. I told the csr that I was having problems with my screen. She issued me a ticket number to go to a local sprint store, as they have to verify the screen issues before issuing me a replacement.
I had to leave my phone at the store for an hour, and when I returned the had updated the rom and claimed that this new software was a cure all fix for every issue I had mentioned. I wasn't going to leave so easily so I complained to the tech at the store that I didnt want to be without a phone on vacation and basically demanded that it be replaced. During this conversation I tried to convince him to order me a touch pro 2 instead, as I was sick of the issues I had been having with my touch pro. He didn't want to give me an upgrade, so I asked him to make sure that my replacement was a new phone (mostly out of spite).
When the tech came back to the help desk, he had a smirk on his face. They ran out of touch pros at the local warehouse, so he had to order me a touch pro 2. So I got my touch pro upgraded for free to a touch pro 2.
