Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)

Ugh I am really pissed off right now with both HTC and Sprint. So I tried the 1-877-654-9111 option 2 but they transfered me to Insurance who then transfered me to some PCD company who then Transfered me to HTC who then said that my 1 year warranty only covered repairs not replacements and that had to be delt with Insurance.

Some one please help? Here is my story: I bought the phone in March. 4 Dead keyboards and no more Advance Exchange later, no one wants to help me unless I drive to a Repair center, which is about 100 miles away.

Have you tried to use the online service & repair website? see the first post for the link. The 12 month warranty should cover the keyboard. Do you have the TEP?

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)

I have a question, I don't know if I should go into a repair shop or what.

My phone has recently had some weird charging issues, like it doesn't seem to want to charge. And sometimes if I plug the charger into the phone the light on the base that plugs into the A/C outlet will come on like it is draining power from the phone. In fact the last week or so even if I unplug the charger the light on the actual charger stays on. Sometimes is will actually charge, other times it's plugged in and I have to mess with it for a while to get it to do anything. I haven't gone to a store because besides the light on the charger not going off, I am sure it won't do the no charge thing when I ma there (kinda like a car at a mechanic shop when it won't make that damn noise!!! lol)

So what do you think Godzson, should I take it in or what should I do?

CarlaDarla, I'd recommend taking both your phone and your charger into the service center, and hopefully they will be able to reproduce the issue you are having with the charger and phone. So it's an intermittent issue? You also might be able to use the online advanced exchange website to receive a replacement. Just my opinion, but whatcha think, Godzson?

Thanks for the quick response The not charging issue is intermittent, but the issue where it seems like the charger is draining my batter since the light on the wall socket(sorry I have no idea the technical term) thing stays on even if I unplug it has been constant.

I will take both in tomorrow if I get the chance, I just never have luck at the stores. They don't ever seem nice, and I never have the luck that others have That advanced exchange I have to pay the $100 for? Thanks a lot for your help Nate

No worries. "The light on the wall socket" terminology is fine, it's just a wall charger/home charger. Thats not cool about the service techs not being nice. That advanced exchange you would not be charged for as it's still within the 12 month warranty, and would also be covered if you have the Total Equipment Protection. Anytime.

Hope all goes well, to me it would be the unit since the light still remains on even after unplugging, they may need to check port, inner board for any defects or liquid damage. If all is well with phone you'd walk out of there with a fixed/new/refurb unit. The techs should help out, just be sincere. Do let us know how they where able to help, Be Safe CarlaDarla
Glad we could be of assistance.

Thank you Major Nate for the reply and see you Monday.. I'm working on my icons for the next theme
