On the Mogul, however, the USB port is normally pretty durable. If the USB port on the Mogul is physically damaged, you can either go through Asurion and file the claim ($100), or pay $119.00 at the service center to receive a replacement device. Personally, as long as you have TEP, I would recommend filing through Asurion. It's $19 cheaper, and you receive the replacement device the following day, instead of it taking three to five business days.

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
I was out on my friends boat and after some water sports we opened up the compartment to find out phones swimming, literally floating in water. 1 Touch Pro and 2 iphones. The iphones died but the TP lived.
I dried it out asap, pulled the battery out and put it in the sun, one of those situations where living in Texas on a 100 degree day helped. I got home and it booted right up. Now after a few days the screen would flicker and flash on soft resets and such. So I go to Asurion's online claim and thought I would knock this out in about 5 min. I got told I needed to call them and then that i needed to fax them an affidavit to complete the claim. I don't have a fax machine at home(who does) and was leaving town the next day. I called sprint and told them this was a joke, spent 45 minutes on the phone with everyone from tech support to telesales to finally, RETENTIONS. I told them why would they partner with a company who doesn't deliver on their quick and speedy claim advertisement. Finally, Sprint was going to ship me a replacement, for 50 deductible. Sprint calls back 1 hour later, it's out of stock. I go ballistic. back on the phone, 2 hours, back through all the same channels, this time I can't get anywhere. With my tail between my legs, I fax off my affidavit and have a new phone with in 24 hours. Brand new in box w/ all the accessories. Moral of the story: TEP is worth it even if you have to jump through their hoops. |

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
Funny thing, btw, today it stormed over here, really fierce. As I'm running across the parking lot from work to my car, my Touch Pro hops out of the case and slides under my car and across a puddle(what a great $579 skipping stone, btw!), touchscreen to the asphalt. battery flies one way, battery door one way, and the phone the other way. So now i'm sitting on my bed, with my phone in pieces looking like crazy for liquid damage. haha...

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
Godzson... thanks for posting your offer of assistance.
Can you answer a question about an Apache replacement? I hope so. If not, please advise where I can get an answer. I've had my Apache for several years and it has given me good service - only one replacement about a year ago for a USB connector. However, the USB connector seems to be getting tired again and I periodically have to tweak it to establish a connection. Otherwise, my PPC is in excellent shape. I've been faithfully paying my $7.00 per month for insurance. I hope that it will apply to this replacement as well. I've heard that Apaches are no longer available and I may receive something else as a replacement. For business reasons, my replacement must be PC based and have WiFi. Will my insurance apply? Do you have any idea what kind of replacement I might receive? I heard rumors that it might be a Touch so I posted my question here.. |

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
I sent Nate a reply, but I got my Refurb from sprint a few days ago and I am extremely happy with it. It felt, looked, acted BRAND new!! Service was quick and I am back and running, charging with no problems LOL
Thanks to both of you for your help.

Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
Easiest thing to do is to open a chat thru sprints website. When tech answers tell problem and ask for advanced troubleshooying dept. Explain proble and tell them going to the store was no help and they were very unhelpful(9 out 10 times this is true) if u have tep and ur phone isnt physically damaged they will send out a replacement. I had to do this when sprint store wouldnt swap a 6800 for me when it had keyboard issues... They saix water damage but none of yhe water damage indicators had changed colors... Dude tried to tell me it could be from sweating while talking on the phone or talking on the phone in the rain... Total bs... But chat is the way to go ... When i got rainbow mark i showed yhem the 20+ page link on this site with a screenshot and they sent me anothee brand new tp. Tep is great. U just have to kno how to use it... Dont go thru assurion unless u have lost or physically broken ur phone.
