Re: Q & A for Touch pro's on TEP (Service and Insurance)
I was out on my friends boat and after some water sports we opened up the compartment to find out phones swimming, literally floating in water. 1 Touch Pro and 2 iphones. The iphones died but the TP lived.
I dried it out asap, pulled the battery out and put it in the sun, one of those situations where living in Texas on a 100 degree day helped. I got home and it booted right up. Now after a few days the screen would flicker and flash on soft resets and such.
So I go to Asurion's online claim and thought I would knock this out in about 5 min. I got told I needed to call them and then that i needed to fax them an affidavit to complete the claim. I don't have a fax machine at home(who does) and was leaving town the next day. I called sprint and told them this was a joke, spent 45 minutes on the phone with everyone from tech support to telesales to finally, RETENTIONS. I told them why would they partner with a company who doesn't deliver on their quick and speedy claim advertisement. Finally, Sprint was going to ship me a replacement, for 50 deductible. Sprint calls back 1 hour later, it's out of stock. I go ballistic. back on the phone, 2 hours, back through all the same channels, this time I can't get anywhere.
With my tail between my legs, I fax off my affidavit and have a new phone with in 24 hours. Brand new in box w/ all the accessories.
Moral of the story: TEP is worth it even if you have to jump through their hoops.
