Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

Can someone please help,

I followed all the instructions posted. The problem is that I can not get the GPS to work outside of GPStool. I applied all the settings, and started the test in GPStool. I went to quickGPS and downloaded the data, and GPStool almost instantly got a fix. I quit the application, and tried starting google maps, but could not find any satellites. I restarted quickGPS and after reaching 100%, it said connection failed please try again. I reopened GPStool, and all the settings were reverted back to what they were before. Searching around here shows that GPStool does not save the settings.

So my question is, how do I actually use the GPS outside of GPStool? What is the procedure, and do I need to do it after every soft reset or whenever I need to run the GPS?

Like anyone here even knows what Warez are. Yah, everyone thinks they know, but I'd bet my phone not one person here really knows. It's like the term "glitching" the kiddies use in games. They can't tell the difference between a "glitch" and an "easter egg". They just use the term "glitch" for everything they don't like other's to use.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

I'm finally getting around to working on this, the GPS works fine on google maps but I've never been able to get live search to work with the GPS no matter what settings I pick. Does anyone know of any quirk with live search and GPS? I did the unlock back when I had the stock ROM, and I think I've seen some places where when using custom ROMs you no longer need to unlock. Should I re-lock and then flash a custom mod again or something like that?

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

OMG this fix TOTALLY ROCKS!

I was having issues running iGuidance v4 on my Verizon HTC Touch Pro. In fact, I almost gave up on it and this totally made it work. Got a locked to 9 satellites. iGuidance lags but that's a software issue not necessarily related to this.

Thanks a lot!=D>

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

I have a stock ROM on my Verizon HTC touch pro. I followed these instruction and am able to get QuickGPS working and the HTC GPS tool gives me my location elevation and a bunch of satellites on both the Q7500 and the SIRF chip sets.

Do I have to do something else in order to get GPS to work with Live Maps or Google Maps?

Thanks

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

Nevermind my last remark. I figured it out. I had to go into google maps and edit my gps settings to point to com4 and it worked.

Incidentally I did the same thing for live maps and it worked too. Yay I don't need VZ navigator anymore.
