I would make sure that "Location On" is checked and if that isnt the problem then try the process over again. Chances are you missed a step because this works 100% if you follow the directions to a T. |

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0
I installed following the instructions with no problems and a lock within four seconds on Google maps. Then I tried to tether my device and I am getting a "Access was denied because username/password was invalid on the domain" error and then when I try to immediately reconnect, it takes 10-15 seconds and reconnects only to stay connected for 2-3 minutes and then the connection drops. After an hour with Verizon on the phone, raised to tier 2 support and then told that they would have to get with the network team, they called back saying that they phone was broken and I needed to do a warranty swap with Asurion (just got the phone as a replacement). So I rolled back to stock and bam, no tethering issues and it connects almost immediately. Has anyone else run into this issue? I searched this thread and didn't see anyone with similar issues...any help is appreciated!
Thanks, J |

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0
While not really all that helpful, I can mention that tethering still works for me after successfully applying this fix for GPS.
Did you do *228 opt 1 or opt 2? I did opt 2 (PRL reload only). You mentioned GPS lock in like 10-15 seconds. Did you apply that fast GPS fix too? I didn't. After my first very long "cold start" lock, my GPS lock now takes a minute or two. Last edited by Walt; 05-29-2009 at 07:23 AM. |

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0
You were correct, I missed a step. I had a defective phone and was sent a replacment, I thought I did everything on the new phone but I forgot to do the ppst step. The HTC GPS Tool is grabbing satellites now.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0
Thanks Walt. I've tried both update via 1 and two from stock with the same results. I have QuickGPS installed and get a lock now within four seconds with no issues in TomTom or Google Maps. If nobody has any suggestions, I may just try to get a replacement and try my luck with that. I may try a non-stock ROM before I send it back in.
Bushy, Did you have issues with tethering and that is why you received a replacement? Thanks, J |

It would be great if this got a little more information...does this gps fix require the agps hack? Is there any way that performing the hack before applying the fix screws up the fix? Side question: is the "Serf Telus aGPS" really required for the agps fix? (ive read different strats to use the QPST software and hacking the gpsone data. Anyways, thanks again, hopefully we can get some educated answered on these questions. Last edited by duradil; 05-31-2009 at 04:06 PM. |

Also, would someone with a working GPS please post their server information and port number from the registry? [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SUPL AGPS]
Thanks in advance. Last edited by duradil; 05-31-2009 at 04:18 PM. |
