Wow, it takes me about 3 hours to get mine back the way I like it, and I've had to do it literally 100 times in the last 9 months, between 6 Touch returns, 60-70 ROM flashes, 5 Touch Pro returns, and several new ROM flashes...

If I know I will be returning, or re-flashing, I usually don't do much customizing. I just load the essentials.

I am a WinMo nub, so I only install like 15 programs, and my glass flip clock w/ transparent background on all slides. I am sure as time goes on I will collect more and more!

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

My phone did it when it was nearly stock with no email setup and no programs loaded. Light on the d pad was on, phone frozen, and a dead battery after a soft reset. I took it back and got a new one and it has not had this issue at all (had the new one for 3+ weeks now).

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I decided to contact Sprint to ask about getting it replaced, but they want me to pay $50 and file a claim through the total protection company. Retarded! 3 days after the 30 day period too and last I had checked they were out of TPs.

It's been working, so not sure I want to spend $50

You won't have to spend $50. If you have TEP, then Sprint covers the manufacturer's warranty. All you have to do is walk into a Sprint Repair Center, and if they cannot fix it, they will give you a "new" one.

Most of the time, it's truly a new one, but they are allowed to give you a refurb. On all of my returns for all my sprint phones, I have always received a BNIB unit--regardless of purchase location/company, or time elapsed. I could go in right now and get my Touch replaced, assuming they still had stock. (They would possibly just give me a Diamond instead.)

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

Thanks ScrapMaker, I called my nearest Sprint store and they confirmed what you said. They said the online rep was full of it as with the 7$ a month you never pay a fee to get it exchanged/fixed/replaced.

This is comforting news

I asked about getting it replaced, but he said they are crazy backordered for awhile.

Yeah, SOMEHOW they are still backordered. At any given time, Austin, as a whole, gets like 5 new units a week.

How hard can it be to pump out a phone that doesn't even go through a QC process? Jesus.

Yeah, go figure! lol. At least I don't feel rushed now, I got plenty of time and so far it's been fine since I unchecked those settings.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I'm still up in the air... so many problems, and my 30-day runs out on 12/12 or 12/13.

This phone seems more like a prototype than a full-featured flagship phone from HTC. I forgave a few similar problems on the original Touch, but with all the phones they have released now, how could they possibly have all these issues.

Come on now.

Scrap, I sent you a PM about this.

I want to throw out there that I am VERY pleased with the replacement I got sent. Screen sensitivity is great - even on the edges. The battery cover is snug - and the gap is minimal between the keyboard and screen. The phone just feels better build in your hand. Built date 11/19

I had to wait over 2 weeks b/c it was on backorder, but well worth it.
