Re: Touch Pro Shutting OFF

It's an issue that has been discussed.

Try the things suggested in that thread.... with the steps I did I haven't had a lockup since. *knocks on wood*

Touch Pro Freezing Overnight

So I've had a problem with my phone basically freezing overnight. I noticed when I woke up on Sunday that my alarm had not gone off and then when I tried to turn the phone on it would not come on. I tried soft-resetting and it still didn't come on so I held down the power button and it finally came on. When it did, I got the battery is very low message and it had been on the charger all night (the light ring was full as if it were charged before I soft-resetted). Today I wake up to my backup alarm and noticed that my phone alarm did not go off once again. Looked at my phone and the light ring looked as if it were still charging but once again the phone would not turn on. I had to soft-reset to get it turned on and it was fully charged this time.

The weird thing about this most recent one is that I didn't have any new emails. I usually get a bunch overnight and I noticed that there was actually a new email about 30 minutes after I went to bed but my phone didn't sync so it must have froze somewhere between 0 and 30 minutes after I put the phone on the charger.

Anyone have a similar problem or have any suggestions for a fix?

Re: Touch Pro Freezing Overnight

I had the same experience with the TP. I took it off the charger and than the phone had to be reset by me taking the battery out. Once back in the phone booted up and I had low battery life (even though it charged all night). I had these problems once or twice before with my Moto Q, Im thinking its a WM problem.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

Mine has not frozen overnight before, but I would bet it's the heat/charging issue that so many of us have been experiencing.

I use GPSToday, along with a host of other programs, like instant messaging/etc... and mine has not frozen while charing. You shouldn't have to prevent the phone from suspending, nor should you have to disable the today timeout. It should work just fine out of the box, like the majority of us.

If yours freezes during the night, perhaps you should return it? Even if a custom ROM appears to fix it, you could just be masking a hardware defect.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

Hmm, there are people who don't have a freezing problem? I kind of figured everyone had this issue some how...

I agree, I shouldn't have to do this crap to make it work - it should work right out of the box. Maybe I will return it and get a new one..

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

To give an update, I haven't had a lockup since changing the settings listed in this thread.

ScrapMaker may be right though. I'm considering returning mine but I absolutely loathe doing a hard reset and starting from scratch.

Re: TP Locking Up Overnight

I don't mind the hard reset- probably take me 20 min to get it how it is now.. I just don't want a refurb phone that isn't like new looking and even more so - I don't want a phone with more problems!
