Care to elaborate? Is this because your TP doesn't have an issue, or does it have all these problems, and you don't feel that HTC would even respond?
How can you say it is flawed? Because it doesn't do what you want?
Perhaps the tp just isn't for you.

I don't think you need a petition for something that isn't a problem.

you are overheating the phone by using speakerphone for extended periods over 1 hour while charging. this is NOT a flaw. use a bt headset or keep the phone cool and you will be fine.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

some one posted to leave the touch pro on while charging by removing the check mark under battery settings for plugged in to avoid turn off. I actually watched ( on and off ) as the battery charged that last 10%. It seemed to take a while but the phone seems to last a little longer. I think this phone looses some kind of calibration when it goes off. my 2 cents anyways.............

Exactly, this is the point that I have been making and trying to get HTC/Sprint to address.

For some reason People keep missing the point. So I will reiterate it again with an additional bit of data. My previous phone used 0.4 W of power to generate 0.27W of RATED MAXIMUM TRANSMISSION ENERGY.

The Touch pro based on your data (and the data I have collected) Uses 2W to generate 0.29 W of RATED MAXIMUM TRANSMISSION ENERGY.

That is the point that we are trying to get across to HTC/SPRINT. That gross an inefficiency is what is causing the over heating and needs to be addressed. Whether you think your unit gets hot or not is a matter of perception. However, to use 2 W to transmit 0.29 W of energy (maximum) is CRAZY!

This same issue has been noted in the diamond which was released nearly TWO MONTHS ago. If Sprint/HTC took this seriously, they would have a fix for the Diamond (and likewise the TP) already.

First, the overheating occurs EVEN WHEN NOT CHARGING. And mine gets even WORSE with the BT in use!

I have provided plenty of data to show the radios are VERY Inefficient. I would consider that is a design flaw! When other phones on the market are 60-75% efficient, to have a 13% efficient transmitter, I would consider that a Design flaw.

When a phone marketed for Business users, gets uncomfortably hot to hold when on extended phone calls (while off the charger). I would consider that a design flaw (Since a majority of business users DO carry on extended conversations). When said phone will not make it through an 8 hour day of normal business use, I would call that a design flaw.

But there is an easy fix! If the Radios were 60% efficient, THE ENTIRE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. But the only people that can fix this is HTC who do not seem to be taking the issue seriously!

Unbelievable. The phone should not be overheating because of a long phone call with the speaker on, (which is beside the point, because it did it with just the earpiece.)

You are either blinded by your "fanboyism," or you just have no prior experience to compare to. It has been mentioned multiple times in this thread, and throughout history, that people have been able to do MUCH MORE at the same time, without their other phones overheating, or having charging trouble.

So let's just agree that you either don't understand the situation at-hand, or don't care. No sense in you posting in this thread anymore.

On that note, according to UPS, I am getting my FOURTH Touch Pro tomorrow. My work day will be very unproductive, at best. I will take measurements, and use the battery utility.

If this phone has the same issues, I'm throwing in the towel. Perhaps I will look into the Xperia unlocked. BB is already pre-ordering them for $700 I believe. Due out November 28th. Similar features, but hopefully designed better. I would pay a huge premium to get a phone that works.

Re: Petition?: We need to get HTC to fix this heat/charging issue!!

Last night, after downloading and running wmwifirouter, I finally experienced what this thread is complaining about. I didn't realize at first, however, that it was my battery overheating, but man was it really annoying!

After a while of running the wmwifirouter program successfully, all of a sudden my phone gives me the battery is critically low message and then it starts freaking out and shutting itself down after receiving a bunch of those critical messages.

I had to let it just shut down, turn it back on, play with it a little, shut it down again and turn it back on again before I realized this wasn't normal. Then I remembered this thread and I wondered if I had the same problem as everyone else.

So I'm on board for a petition or whatever. This is super annoying and I can't believe these batteries get so hot that they trigger a charging meltdown! hahaha

Should I go to BB and try to get an exchange for a new one? I bought mine that first weekend BB was selling them.

EDIT: I just got the SAME thing again when talking to a friend for an hour and a half. WTF. This is really annoying!

Hmmmmmm, my suspicions are also leaning towards a shut off sensor. Maybe there is a shut off sensor reg edit. I searched but did not find anything.
