Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

If its anything like the diamond, wait for a better rom and maybe try the VZW radio. That helped a lot with my diamond. Im getting the TP on Nov 2nd so i cant say i have any experience with it yet.

Well atleast on a data connection it stops itself when it's not receiving any data so it can charge back up, but what happens if your on a phone call where it's constantly using up battery? That's one of the few issues I've been having with my tp. Whenever I'm on a long call I put the phone on the charger so the battery won't drain as much. But when I do that with the tp it shows that the phone is charging but the battery is still decreasing while the tp sits on the charger. I've never had a problem charging the phone while on a call with any of my other ppcs. I can't believe this radio takes that much juice to run continuously.

It should work on any WM 5/6.x phone. The trick originally came from the Moto Q. However, it's possible the trick is already implemented on the Diamond. In which case, it wouldn't make any difference. Won't hurt to try though.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

This phone's battery sucks... I may have to return it.
Yesterday full charge @4pm, left work watched 45 mins of an orb stream during my commute. 10 txt, 1 5 minute phone call, and maybe 10 minutes of surfing.

Phone started giving critical alerts @6:30 and turned off by 7:30. This thing is worse then my 17" laptop.

And this is with the battery hacks (had them on my q9 which would be @85% after the above with a year old battery).

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

My battery life increased dramatically after I turned off the light sensor and turned back the rightness of the screen to about 30% on battery. Now it seems to get the same life as my touch which is acceptable.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

I was really concerned whether the TP would be a good move after seeing the Diamond reviews, BUT Battery life looks surprisingly good...

Last two 18+ hr days with moderate to heavy use (1-2 hrs total talk time, "Normal" PDA usage, couple dozen texts and some email (10-15 maybe)), still had 40-50% battery left (I take off charger at 4:30 am, back on the charger at 10:30-11pm). Battery life seems comparable to what I had with my Motorola (Nextel) i560 /Dell Axim combo (i.e had about half battery on each at the end of the day and that was with a 1050 mAh on the i560 and 1440mAh on the Axim).

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

Wow, the Battery life sucks hard. Either that, or I have a defective battery. I have the Auto backlight sensor disabled. Backlight at 40%

Charged it up last night before going to sleep. By morning it was at 54% ?!? WTF?

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

Something is seriously not right. Charged it up to full. After a 12 minute phone call, battery meter says 66%.

NuepwoerCPL is either not reading right, power readings for TOuch Pro is completely off, I have a defective battery or phone, or the Touch Pro has THE worst battery life of any phone in history.

Re: Touch Pro Battery life!!! Post your reviews!!

My battery life improved dramatically when I uninstalled Nuepower.

Either that...or it doesn't read right.

I've been listening to music pretty much ALL DAY now (It's 1:35PM here now), surfing the web a lot, checking weather, e-mailing, texting, playing with random stuff, and I still have 60% left (took off the charger at 7:15am). That's really not bad for 6 hours of mostly continuous use.

Is it a safety feature? Seems to be too conservative to me. The Touch Pro doesn't get any warmer than my Touch did. Perhaps someone can find a way to hack it to override the temperature cut off. or at least change the temperature value so it doesn't keep cutting off charging. Hopefully it's not a built in hardware feature.

There's no better way to permanently damage your battery than to charge it while it is super hot. Extremely excessive heat could also cause the battery to explode. I highly doubt they would leave this as a registry entry, and if it was, it would be dangerous to change.
