Re: Update: TP heats up, then battery drains, even while on charger.

My Touch, sits at 28-40mA, 16C with:
-NO BT
-On Charger, screen on 30% brightness (currently dimmed status--haven't touched it)
-OctroTalk running, as well as Exchange.

With BT on/discoverable I sit at 40-60mA

When I use the data connection, I jump to 300mA-400mA. (plus the 30mA for BT, if on.)

Active phone call is right around 400mA without BT enabled. (drops to 375 or so, once the screen dims, but doesn't go off)

How does the more advanced Pro use so much more power, even at an idle state?

Something is awry

Agreed! I'm seeing
13-14ma in sleep mode
40-60 ma with the screen dimmed
140-180 ma with the screen powered up and brightness at 50%,
650 ma on a voice call
900+ ma on a voice call with BT
600-650 ma on a data call

I am convinced that there HAS to be an issue with the Radio software. I can buy the 140-180 ma in normal operation, (faster CPU more memory). But the radios should get BETTER not WORSE. More advanced hardware should not have to work as hard to do the same job, thus less power... HTC needs to fix this!

Re: Battery Usage Diagnostics

I have uploaded a new version of the utility 0.1.1.58.

Includes the following Bug Fixes:

1) Now throws an update for every event. Previous Logic would drop events if another event occurred prior to the timed update.
2) Now allows the system to drop into Power mode D3 (sleep)

Re: Battery Usage Diagnostics

Uploaded a new version of the utility (again)

The following bug fix is in place:

1) If multiple events occur while saving the log, a file in use exception would be thrown. It is now properly handled.
2) Visibility of the plots is now properly implemented.

Don't have means of taking exact temp, but it is very clearly the part under the camera (radios?) that's hot, the battery itself is noticeably cooler.

Roaming on 1X right now, with screen dim, OFF the charger my pro is sitting at 57 mA. It seems to gobble up more power on charger for no apparant reason.

Re: Update: TP heats up, then battery drains, even while on charger.

My temperature was between 27-29C while talking on the phone with the battery charger and speakerphone turned on. Drew anywhere between 300-450mA current. Battery showed 2 bars when I pulled it off the charger and dropped to 0 bars in 2 seconds. Pretty crazy...While the phone is not being used I logged 50-60mA...

Question Your HTC Pro Charge Time Is???

So I got some cheapo travel chargers off eBay and trying to figure out if they just suck. My stock charger seems to charge a lot faster than this eBay charger. Here are my notes:

I am charging my phone right now using this charger
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310097707864

My bat was dead dead when I plugged it in. It's been almost 3 hours and have 5 bars or half way. I have been using the phone a bit sending some texts. It doesn't seem to get nearly as hot as the stock charger.

Now I charged my phone with a genuine htc car charger yesterday but didn't really keep an eye on the time. It did seem to charger faster though.

Before I got the eBay charger I was using the stock charger which I also didn't time and my bat was not dead dead but still seemed much faster.

I like to keep one charger at home, work and in the car. I also don't like to plug in my phone until the bat is almost dead just to help keep longer overall bat life. (Which seems to really help I have noticed on my older non ppc phones)

Anyways, I'm not going to return the charger, it was only 6 bucks and it still does work. I just did a quick search on eBay and never had a prob with cheapo chargers before. I have no problem buying a better one if need be if anyone has some suggestions, but maybe I'm just dreaming.

Lil feedback plz...
