Re: TP recharges after a full charge

It seems like a possible reason.. But the thing is I charged it all night long, from about 12:00am to 8:30am. I feel like it would be sufficient time (even if it were overheating) for the TP to fully charge.

Maybe in 20 years we'll have the cell phone equivalent of the modern supercar that can run cool, get 20+mpg on the freeway, and still post 11 second quarter mile times, but that time isn't here. All devices behave this way. Some are less powerful (in a power consumption, radiation production sense), some cool slightly better than others, but they all behave in the same manner. Even the iPhone, the king of user-friendliness and simplicity in the PDA-phone arena does the exact same thing under heavy use. For now, it's just the way it works.
The iPhone can't make it through a 2-hour phone call? That's news to me.

My Touch didn't have that problem either. I love this phone as much as anyone else, but not the problems that go along with it.

I'd say your analogy is way off. These cell phones are not akin to the 80's supercars. The Pro is supposed to be a reliable workhorse with performance to boot. I would compare it more to a Nissan Titan... rather than a sports-car. In terms of cost, however, it does reach the supercar arena... just not in terms of the phone itself.

OK, I don't think we're going anywhere with this. Agree to disagree. I hope you find a phone that fits your needs, Touch Pro or otherwise.

I just want the Pro to work, as advertised. That's all

Wow, I though I was the only one having this issue with the TP.
My problem is exactly as the first post on this thread.

Welcome to the "My Touch Pro is defective," club.

I wish I knew the secret password to get into the "My Touch Pro is perfect," club, but alas, it is hard to find it.

Mostly everyone seems to be in the "I don't care that my Touch Pro is defective, and I won't be sending a message to HTC by returning/exchanging until I get a good one," club.

While a common club, I recommend not drinking the punch

Re: Is the stock charger adequate?

Kraziepop is absolutely correct.

I've been on a con call for 6 hours (don't ask company is goofy) but i've been in my vehicle without the heat on. Its currently about 50f in Chicago, the battery is still at 100%. About half and half speaker and bluetooth useage.

I have the phone plugged into an inverter, and it is actually pretty cold in the truck.

Re: Is the stock charger adequate?

i had the 6700, i had the mogul...now i have the touch pro. the touch pro is the only one of the 3 i ever had the problem described in this thread occur with. if i am running slingplayer watching tv on my phone for a long period of time 30 minutes or so, i do this often in the car the phone stops charging and gets hot. something is definitely wrong here.

I bet this affects ALL Sprint Touch Pros, but most people aren't power users...
