To confirm, I just booted up and touched nothing, and it seems to hang indefinitely at the calibration screen, waiting for input. (Eventually it'll complain about hung_task and rpcrouter being blocked, but it won't skip the calibration.) Quote:

Alright well I still can't download from market over EvDo. I have not tried to do it over WiFi yet.
Thanks about the calibration program. I had to delete the calibration file and the second time I got it to work. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - ALPHA (buggy. as. hell.)
Does it lock up or reboot when you download from the market over EVDO?
I seem to have had both. lock up = Android error, generally. Reboot = kernel panic. If it's an Android error, the new kernel has ADB working, so you could try to get that up and running, and running logcat while downloading from the market, to see what errors come up. If it's a kernel error, you could get follow the instructions on the first page for how to get debug logs from the ramconsole -- but the kernel panic logs I've seen lately haven't been very informative. MrPippy has been working lately on improving the stability of smd_7500 (the specific CDMA data channel code), which has been quite a mess for a long while, and the chief seat of the problems. It's getting better, but still isn't quite right. |

I am on the Cellular South network in the Memphis TN area. The last few builds work great except no data. Can someone tell me where the data settings for Eclair are? I just want to try a few things with the settings and I don't know enought about this system to know where to look.
Thanks, Jack

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - ALPHA (buggy. as. hell.)
a quick note to those trying to get data working. I have a TP, RAPH800 on Sprint, and i got it working. have been able to downoad from the markeplace, etc...
some of these steps might be redundant, nevertheless it was what i did from the beginning to end. its pretty much what connect-utb describes for other devices. Steps I took: 1. Edit startup.txt (i used notepad++), add "ppp.nostart=1" right before "lcd.density"... though maybe the location doesn't matter as long as its added to the cmdline line, idk. Save. 2. Start a data connection - i started my browser 3. launch haret 4. go to settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names 5. create a new APN 6. give it a Name... anything 7. for APN I used "wap.sprint", then back out and select your newly created APN 8. long hold the end key - turn on airplane mode 9. long hold again, turn off airplane mode 10. exit, start marketplace, go to downloads - you'll get an error (3G will appear sometime around now) 11. go back to settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names 12. choose the default APN -"Android" 13. data should be on, marketplace will be working 14. select something to download. it should just hang there - cancel the download. 15. exit marketpplace and you will see the downloads accuring in the top status bar - go back to marketplace and you'll see everything working, including web browsing REBOOTING: [QUICK UPDATE] i got it reliable now. reboot to winmo. edit startup.txt, set "ppp.nostart=0" after the above. still takes a few seconds... around 20 or so for 3g to start but its there. Also side note, why doesn't FB want to sync with FB anymore? Is it something the XDA Guys changed? Quote:

I've been fighting trying to get this too boot for it seems like forever. All I ever got was a looping waiting for SD card, no matter which files I tried. Finally reformatted AGAIN, copied your files to my SD card, and now I have a little green robot staring at me. Time to experiment! |
