Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - ALPHA (buggy. as. hell.)
a quick note to those trying to get data working. I have a TP, RAPH800 on Sprint, and i got it working. have been able to downoad from the markeplace, etc...
some of these steps might be redundant, nevertheless it was what i did from the beginning to end. its pretty much what connect-utb describes for other devices.
Steps I took:
1. Edit startup.txt (i used notepad++), add "ppp.nostart=1" right before "lcd.density"... though maybe the location doesn't matter as long as its added to the cmdline line, idk. Save.
2. Start a data connection - i started my browser
3. launch haret
4. go to settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names
5. create a new APN
6. give it a Name... anything
7. for APN I used "wap.sprint", then back out and select your newly created APN
8. long hold the end key - turn on airplane mode
9. long hold again, turn off airplane mode
10. exit, start marketplace, go to downloads - you'll get an error (3G will appear sometime around now)
11. go back to settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names
12. choose the default APN -"Android"
13. data should be on, marketplace will be working
14. select something to download. it should just hang there - cancel the download.
15. exit marketpplace and you will see the downloads accuring in the top status bar - go back to marketplace and you'll see everything working, including web browsing
REBOOTING:
[QUICK UPDATE]
i got it reliable now. reboot to winmo. edit startup.txt, set "ppp.nostart=0" after the above.
still takes a few seconds... around 20 or so for 3g to start but its there.
