I don't recall if launcher2 is included in the build. If it is, you should just be able to go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, find LauncherPro, go into it and 'clear defaults', and then when you press home you'd get an option to run the regular launcher instead.
But I sort of suspect the default has been stripped out. You might be able to grab an apk from a 3rd party -- again, I'm pretty sure it's called Launcher2. |

launcher2 is installed as the default launcher and it complains as soon as i setup for the first time that the beta has expired and get the latest one from launcherpro website.. i can get it for free... but i will see if i can clear the defaults and launch the original..
i tried to stop the launcher pro and it wouldnt let me, still worked after stopping it. the option to make it not a default is greyed out... Last edited by myshinynewtouch; 09-10-2010 at 11:15 AM. |

Pretty sure the original Android launcher has 3. You'll need a non-stock one to change that. A non-stock one like... (gasp!) LauncherPro.
Seriously, though, I'd give it another shot. Hit menu from the home screen, then Preferences (which is distinct from Settings -- not super intuitive) to get to the LauncherPro settings. You can set between 3 and 7 screens, between 1 and 3 sets of dock icons, old or new style highlighting... you can definitely customize it to feel very close to stock (1.6 or 2.0+). You can even set it up so it has those cute little dots to indicate which screen you're on and to slide you back and forth. I'm not usually one to pay for software when there's free alternatives, but I donated to LauncherPro*. I think it's really good stuff, and getting better very quickly. I didn't really care about the widgets when I threw in my $3, but it turns out they're really good, too. I've got HTC Sense on my Evo, and I tossed it in favor of LauncherPro. * And TitaniumBackup. And Subsonic. That's pretty much the whole list for the last couple years or so. </Advertising Mode> |

Ha, I love LP as well. Great software. If I ever get a full-blown Android device, I'll probably donate.
Subsonic... Gotta check that one out. Never heard of it before. |

For me, it's the killer app for Android. Turns my phone into a ~250GB mp3 player.
Of course, I've been obsessive about collecting and ripping music for a long time now, so it's pretty tailor-made for me. |

Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro -- Now working on Verizon! And with GPS!
thanks makkonen, that worked, made the changes like you had said... does GPS lock work good ? i was reading about the agps questions on this thread and i saw someone post about the gps.conf file in /data/etc folder.. i dont see anything in the /data folder, OI file manager says its empty.. i remember back in the day when i could adb into my phone (was a vogue)... now the windows pc cant even recognize my touch pro.. gotta find out why there is nothing in the data folder.. if you could pls enlighten me.. i did update the froyo.conf file to point to the new gps.conf file which needs to be moved to the data/etc folder.. but if i dont have a folder called etc in data... will those commands execute or will it hang my android boot ?
figured out data folder has hidden stuff, used the terminal under spare parts - saw a bunch of files there.. but i still dont see the folder called etc.. can i just create one and it starts working.. ok, modified the system/etc/gps.conf to point to the sprint servers, still no apgs, gotta go out and try out the gps stuff.. is it working for everyone else ?
