This has baffeled me for months, but at least it looks like were getting somewhere with the issue. Im running the new Phoenix 2 rom now, and TTS is working like a charm. Looks like I may be on this one for a while. Thanks.
I've had TTS fail on Energy ROM's Jan 15 (but it had worked on earlier ROMS).

You can make it fail on just about any ROM.

I've seen VoiceCommand, tmail, HTC Messages, SenseUI and Opera all make or break it.

I just posted in the other thread. V4 with my iGo is working flawlessly on Energy ROM Phoenix Manila 2.1 with voice command installed. Great work on the script with the time outs. This could very well be the solution everyone has been waiting for. Thanks.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

I need help with installation. I keep getting the error "Program cannot read application data", or somthing like that. There are only two things I can think of:

1. I haven't installed the voice file for TTS yet, or even regular voice file for "Left, Right", is that it? I don't think so because I thought that error was different based upon what I read in this thread.

2. The banding zip and data zip, well I'm confused about how to install correctly. I copied them over to my card, and got the error. I changed the .zip to .gso and overwrote both banding and data .gso's that were already in there, and got the error. The only thing I didn't do was just unzip them and put them in the IGO folder.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Meanwhile, I'll get the TTS voice file and unzip the .rar's and see if that helps, thanks!

Google "igo8 installation tips"

I'm not even joking.

Uh, glad you're not joking, 'cause nothing in Google's list helped, so definitely not funny. Everything referred to Mio's, QNav's, and PNA's in general, with perhaps about 5 links for Windows Mobile, 4 Omnia's, 1 Xperia and just one thread referring to my problem, but still didn't help, but at least confirmed my thought about the banding and data .zip's. Thanks anyway.

Did you even read the first website when you searched? We are not allowed to put the warez website if you did as exactly I told you - type in "igo8 installation tips" use the very first website that pops up there.

It does have step by step installation tip with all the links to the downloads, and where to put what files etc.

Read the how to's(under tutorial) for the Igo8 there.

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Each time I go to Route Planning to uncheck "Per-use Toll" and exit and come back again, it put the check mark on it.

I think this is playing the "sys.txt" file again.

Any one figure out what line to add to it?

Thanks!
