I found that only ROMs that TTS can work without any scripts or modifications are EngeryROM and MalROM. Both have Opera Mobile 10 as default browser. So I suspect that the TTS thing must have something to do with Opera 9.5. Of course on stock Sprint ROM, TTS has no problem, where Opera is 9.5 as well (16983).
I don't think Sense is the cause because on Malrom/EnergyROM, the sense is still enabled when I run iGO. But some people get lucky with disabling the Sense, so I guess maybe something related to Sense Internet Tab? Or any settings in Sense that related to Browser etc.?
I tried different registry hacks and so far still have no clue what are the factors that make TTS works on Sprint Stock, MalROM and Energy while not on other ROMS I tried. (With Sense/Touchflo 3D Enabled of course, and it seems Tmail.exe etc. are still there when I run MalROM/EnergyROM).

+1 In my testing I agree as well. Energy ROMs are much more friendly with TTS and I believe that the opera is the biggest reason. I have no idea why, but the other ROMs give me fits on this. I was successfully running TTS on my mogul, yes slow, but it worked and it kills me that these 300 phones crap out with it. This has baffeled me for months, but at least it looks like were getting somewhere with the issue. Im running the new Phoenix 2 rom now, and TTS is working like a charm. Looks like I may be on this one for a while. Thanks.

I've had TTS fail on Energy ROM's Jan 15 (but it had worked on earlier ROMS).

You can make it fail on just about any ROM.

I've seen VoiceCommand, tmail, HTC Messages, SenseUI and Opera all make or break it.

Thanks to Mortscript, my iGo8 works great, I added a tweak to his last script as I need to shutdown and restart S2U2 so here it is hope it helps someone out. Oh, by the way I'm using the latest MalROM which I have to say is one incredible ROM

I use Jugg4jug wm 6.1 rom (strip down version of sprint stock 6.1). I installed Sense 2.5 on it and it works without disable Sense 2.5. TTS still work even it's at 90 megs of ram.

Go read here. This will help. It's not a memory issue.

For the error message at destination. Are you running a different skin. Sounds like your running the Gurjon skin. If so go to their site (just google it) and update your "half patches". I had this two at one point in time, but this should fix it. There is also a new updated skin there as well. Your ROM update probably took you to WM6.5, the messaging programs (tmail.exe), opera, and some others are taking the resources that use TTS. There is another thread here that some new scripts have been written different than mine to close these when running iGo. Look there, I have had good success with it.

Thanks for the update. Yes, I am using their skin, and I just updated to their new skin and half patch. Hopefully the error is gone. Now the major problem is the TTS. I just flashed my phone to use the latest EnergyRom, and tried motoscript thing. Could not get the script to run.
