Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
i have TMOUS TP2, and experimented for iGO8 TTS quite a bit. <iGO_8.3.4.117940 (Nov 3 2009)>
Conclusion is that it's a hit or miss. There is no sure way to make it work all the time. However, there is a guideline to improve your chance. 1) secure memory as much as possible 2) use 16000 quality TTS. Using 32800 does NOT improve the voice quality that much while 16000 gives you much more chance of TTS working 3) susan seems to demand more resources than david my 2 cents... BTW, i'm on stock 6.1 ROM. I was not able to make TTS working with wm 6.5 TMOUS release. Last edited by jjj240; 03-12-2010 at 12:27 PM. |

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
Sprint TP2 here with EnergyROM Phoenix (WM6.5, Sense 2.1). Using the high-quality TTS voices, I can get it to work everytime but only if I soft reset first, every time.
Free RAM does not seem to make any difference. I can clear more RAM (~75 MB) by shutting everything down, including Manila, but TTS still won't work. The only way for me to get TTS to work reliably is to soft reset. After soft resetting I have ~60 MB free. Anybody have a clue as to what's going on here? If it's not the RAM, then what is it? |

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)
I could get the tts work finally on my sprint touch pro2. I was fed up trying all the combinations of data/branding files and many other paths. I agree with the recent post that tts seems like a hit or miss thing... for me even now, it works one time and not in another....
Finally though i do not call myself as an expert in this, here is what i did/do which seems to be working most of the time. thought it may help (hit or miss ![]() i did these one time actions. 1) Uninstall all applications from memory and install on storage card. 2) Install the nopushinternet cab (need to reset after install). And everytime before opening the igo, i use htcaddicts cleanram to clean the ram. I noticed this requirement while trying the possibilities. Now as a last try after doing the above things, before opening igo, delete the save folder contents and while configuring in the voices screen, select the voices randomly finally to susan until screen stops responding... if lucky enough, should hear susan voice. Though it seems really really weird, thatshow i got it worked very first time accidentally when i was exhausted... i still have no clue of the funda there... please dont think me wrong, i am still not a wm expert.. parts of this post might be in previous posts.. this post is of how i follow the steps. by the way... i loovvveee my tp2 even more day by day... i found and installed somany personal choice of apps.. thanks thanks thanks to all the ppcgeeks out here.. |

Does iGO8 work with WinMo 6.5?
That would be one determining factor as to whether or not I'd make the jump to the new 6.5 stock ROM. |

Good news, guys.
I just tested iGO on my fresh flashed Sprint ROM. And yes, TTS works out of box . |
