Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Can someone clarify this step under the TTS instruction on pg 1? I can't seem to find it and I'm not getting TTS.

Go to Settings --> Map Screen --> Check on "Street Names During Navigation"

Just do like that. Are you serious you cant see it?

It might not work unless you clean up some of your memory.

I don't see this option, but TTS works now for some reason.

I had speech working but when I actually tried the navigation in a car the speech stopped working...

I have the voice selected, when I select another voice it doesnt even play the demo voice when selected. Anyone else run into this issue?

I don't know if this will be much help but I at least know WHY this happens. There are a few .DLL files enclosed with the TTS package in the original posting. I think these .DLL files have something to do with it. I had the same problem with my GPS (a Mio, not the HTC Touch Pro2) and replacing the .DLL files with older versions worked. So either older versions of the .DLL files will help fix your problem or if it works once in a while and then stops (like it does with me) my guess is the phone isn't "reading" the .DLL files properly for some reason (I have my HTC Touch Pro2 get TTS working fine then it will all of a sudden stop. If I go back and forth a bunch of times selecting different voices eventually it will work again, leading me to believe it's a .DLL issue.)

I have no luck getting the skin in #2 to work. I think the link had expired. But I google it and got the file.

I put that ZIP file in the \iGo8\Content\Skin folder

Copy the EXTENSION to the roof of iGo8

I even delete my SAVE folder and reboot

Each time it run I get this error message on screen "FFUIERROR: Unknown layer referenced Identifier=[d_AutoKartaLayer]"

Help.

saj070,

This is to your reply on post #274

I got the first file to work with the gurjon skin but its in landscape mode.

Your second file is smaller and its in protrait mode but the skin option is grey out hence I cant use the skin.

Do you have one working in protrait with the gurjon skin?

the one i used is from navy and it is working flawlessly i like it in landscape not portrait mode. there is a setting in igo8 to make it portrait or remove landscape from txt file...

there are few options i not a expert but try either one should work..

same with garmin i like landscape mode and i use the tweak to make it landscape...

Chong67, I ran into this problem recently when I flashed the Mighty ROM and found out I needed to update the half patches in the extensions folder because they do not contain the resolutions of both landscape and portrait modes that the newer version of the gurjon skin supports. Half patches are located here: http://www.gurjon.com/download/index...O/HALFPATCHES/

This info might be useful to other people that are flashing new roms too.
