SERO F&F 500 here, I couldn't get my beloved Pre, that I read precentral every day in hopes of. I can't get the Hero, so the Touch Pro 2 will be just as awesome of a replacement.

I just called and ordered from the special telesales and paid full price $449. They charged me $56 for taxes, but tax here is only 8.75%, so I better be getting some money back on taxes.

The guy even said he had heard the rumors about the price drop.

Rewind to yesterday evening, So I had tried negotiating with ecare to get a $70 renewal credit, but they said if I took that I couldn't upgrade my phone, I would lose my $150 credit. So I said I would renew if they offered me the TP2 for $199.

The ecare lady said call Telesales and reference this email. This is what she said

"Considering your loyalty I offer you the new HTC Touch Pro 2 for
$199.99. Once you activate a new handset on your account, please reply. We will apply the promised credit on your account to make the handset cost similar to the online price.

I have placed a note on the account stating the concern so that the
person assisting you will have a point of reference. Hence, the handset
cost to you $199.99"

Isn't that a weird email, she said 199 but then she says match the online price. Since she said 199.99 twice that negates her mention of matching the online price. RIGHT?!?!

Telesales agreed I should get a credit once I activate my phone, so we shall see. I will update you, if not i'm returning it.

I just echatted and got the phone and was charged 449+ tax so like 480-90ish. She then promised to credit my account $250. So looks like no MIR, unless I can still mail it in? Does anyone know if I can?

Anyways it does look like its for corp accounts only but I guess some of us got lucky.

Is there anyway you can just sell me the phone for 199.99 right now instead of having to wait for a credit? Like I said I would rather pay the tax on the 199 amount than the 449 amount

I do apologize however that option is not available. The price match is for corporate liable accounts. However being that you were promised this, I am going to honor this today. The system does not recognize the new pricing being that your account is not corporate liable.

I got shot down on the price match for the two phones we purchased, but I CAN'T complain because of what I pay for monthly service. (old SERO with many perks).

However, I may return one of them because the TP2 is 'nice', but we have a perfectly good TP collecting dust - and the $350 buys allot of BEER.

You can get a price match if you call up and on a per person basis but these trolls posting fake e-mails and fake echats is my problem.If you like them then so be it but i have a problem with people posting fake chats that say TOMORROW SPRINT IS SLASHING prices on the tp2 on there website when it is not going to happen.

If you have not had success try it my way. Negotiate for a $70 credit with ecare, and say I would still like to be able to upgrade to the Hero in the coming month.

Then when they say they can't do it. Say give me the TP2 for $199 and I'll renew even though I can't get the renewal credit.

But wait until I get my credit!

rdcrds, I am curious about something-have you been a complete jerk all of your life or is this just a recent development? I am not going to sit here and let you impugn my integrity while you accuse me of being a troll and posting a fake email. I would like to know how you know for a fact that the email I posted was fake? Perhaps you are omniscient and know all things? Only a total jerk and POS makes such an accusation without having any supporting evidence. You are a disgrace to this Forum and are someone that serious readers of this Forum should completely ignore.
