So if you knew that particular device existed, then you knew it worked on USA 3G. The X10 has not even been released yet. It is not the dominant one when it hasn't even been released yet, lol. But rest assured, there will be an American version of it too. And you probably won't ever see a commercial for it either. And it runs Android, not Windows Mobile. So don't even give me the "people just aren't interested in Windows Mobile" excuse for why we don't see any commercials for it. See this link: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/prod...10?lc=en&cc=us It says: "Networks UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900 only available for phones sold in Americas (except Brazil) and Australia. UMTS HSPA 900/1700 not available for phones sold in Americas. UMTS HSPA 1900/2100 available worldwide." As you can see, there is a version that has AT&T's 3G, and another version that has Europe's 3G. This thing runs Android- and I haven't seen a single commercial for it. Uh, Windows Mobile phones DO work out of the box. Agian, the Verizon Touch Pro 2 was sold out for over a month because they couldn't keep them in stock. Consumer Reports rated it as the best business device on the market. And this is stock, right out of the box. As for social networking- there's a facebook app, a myspace app, and several twitter apps. There is also some integration with the OS (at least with Titanium, TouchFlo, the Xperia panel interface, SPB Mobile Shell, and any other interface out there). There is no way you can claim Windows Mobile wouldn't sell if they advertised when the Verizon Touch Pro 2 stayed sold out for over a month with NO marketing whatsoever, and no stores even having display models to show customers. If they advertised it the way they do the Droid, then it would be the hottest selling device in America right now. And, again- the X10 runs Android. It's not a Windows Mobile device. Have you seen any marketing whatsoever for it? Of course not. So that pretty much blows your whole "it's because nobody wants Windows Mobile" theory right out of the water. However, at least Sony will actually sell it to an American if they somehow find out it exists. HTC, on the other hand, will NOT sell an American an unlocked Australian HD2 once the American finds out it will work on 3G over here. The American is left to deal with high priced middle men. So while Sony doesn't market at all, at least they will actually sell you a device. HTC doesn't market it at all, and won't sell you one either. HTC deals with carriers in America. They don't care about the public at all. They market what the carriers tell them to, and they won't sell anything directly to the public. |

I think the reason there is little development in the app world is because the SDK for Windows Mobile 7 has not been released yet. Nobody wants to make an app that will be obsolete in a few months. Everyone and their mama knows Windows Mobile 7 is coming, but nobody knows which apps will work on it and what it will take to make an app work on it. So we're getting a few apps here and there. But just about everyone is waiting for the Windows Mobile 7 SDK before they start making commercial apps. |

Also- I saw somewhere that Google had their own ETF for people buying the Nexus One, so you want to make sure you're not caught up in any BS with them. Have you seen the pictures of that Nexus two that Motorola is supposedly making? Looks awesome (has a keyboard). Oh yeah, let me know how fast that T-Mobile data is too. HSPA+, freedom of a SIM card... Man I'm jealous! If you get sick of not having a keyboard, you can put your T-Mobile SIM in your Touch Pro 2 (have to unlock it first) and use EDGE data.. |

my brother already has one and i haven't seen any problems with it yet. Luckily hes not having that problem that certain people are having with 3g going up and down. data speeds are basically the same as sprints. I'de be lying if i said that sprint was faster. Honestly i don't care for the nexus, i'm going to buy the hd2 the second it drops. there is no eft, i bought the phone full price $529 and they were able to add it to the 59.99 500 minute, unlimited data and text plan, once again the best part is no contract. I just sold my tp2 on ebay for 295, so i'm good. I kept my 29.99 sero plan which i will put my tp1 on but honestly i probably won't even use that phone line. |
