I really don't like soft keyboards. I'll wait till a snapdragon pda phone comes out with ah hard keyboard.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
I think one key thing everyone is forgetting in the whole sprint wimax deal is that, clearwire said that they have made their 4G Wimax network very flexible in that at any moment if wimax looks like its dying (the cousin of HD-DVD) that literally with the flick of a switch they could convert over to LTE.
http://mobile.engadget.com/2009/09/1...uld-be-easy-t/ Now thats a smart company, not putting all of its eggs into one basket. It was really smart of them to do that, because with each day that goes by more and more carriers are going with the LTE technology. I keep thinking that they may have to flip that switch soon! |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
My dream device 4.3 inch screen, 1 gig internal memory, snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera with a flash, and of course a hard keyboard. I could care less about the provider if they have consistent 3g or higher coverage. Based on the areas that I frequent, Sprint currently has the most reliable service with both data and phone calls over every other provider. If that were to change, I would consider changing as well, with the only possible exception is Verizon because of their pricing.

Clearly, if these guys are saying things like this, there must be some merit to what I was saying about no device support on Wimax if nobody else adopts that technology. If they can really switch without any trouble, then they need to go on and do it right now. The longer they wait, the harder it is going to be. If they went LTE, there would without question be lots of device support. Forget the fact that Europe and pretty much every worldwide GSM carrier is going LTE. Verizon and AT&T are both already confirmed to be going LTE in the USA. So if Sprint went LTE too, it would definitely be a good thing for Sprint. Heck, it would be a good thing for the whole USA. |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
They also mention that Clearwire said they are the only carrier that can do this. It almost sounds like they just dumped WiMax and LTE into their hardware and hoped for the best. Remind me to not buy Clearwire stock.
