Anyways if I go with a hacked rom and radio will the internal gps work better?

I have a Titan on Telus.

Thank you!

on the titan yes, (i know nothing of 6.5) dcd would be a good one to use, but if you don't use the camera much, you can get 6mb more ram (that's 10% for the titan) with no2chem's last titan rom. pm me for more questions on that though.

back on topic; the radio version will the way to improve reception, although I'm not sure what's the best for you.

It's hard for me to believe anything could be better then Titan Radio ROM 3.42.50, I have to say it's amazing, I get like 8 sats in 15-30 seconds if even 15sec's and I live in the mountains. I have WM6.5 21501 and it rocks, forget 6.1! 6.5's GUI is alot easier on the eyes and much more functional when using your finger.

Where did you get WM6.5? I don't want to change anything else just upgrade to 6.5.

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

I cannot get GPS to work on my newly acquired Titan with a PPCkitchen WM 6.5 21501. I made sure to select "GPS" from the Rev drop-down box. I installed Olipro 2.40 bootloader and Radio 3.42.50 prior to loading the ROM.

I have taken the steps using QPST listed here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix

And the External GPS settings listed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17032

I've also tried the |||bored||| GPS fix originally for the Touch Pro: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462206

I'm noticing the ROM listed in the kitchen's 21501 build is 3.0.666.1 (or something similar) when the PPCgeeks site says 3.16.651.0 is the minimum which can be used. However, the XDA developers site says that with the edits made using QPST, any ROM can be used. I'm also pretty surprised the ROM number for a 6.5 is lower than the stock 6.1...

I have the VZW stock WM 6.1 ROM (3.57.605.1) and radio 3.37.75 and tried to use those as well with no luck.

So, no GPS with PPCkitchen.org's 6.5 21501, and no GPS with the stock 6.1 ROM...any ideas for what I can do to make this thing work?

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

I bet you have pri 2.03xx. Thsi MR1/MR2 pri blocks gps on any custom rom. You must downgrade and then unlock and flash custom radio and rom again.

I have PRI 1.46_002.

Let me go ahead and list everything I've seen/done:
QPST Edits
PDE IP address: 216.198.139.92
PDE Port Number: 8889
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: PDE

Reg Edits:
HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/
Enable AGPS=1
EnableGPSSmartMode=1
GPSMode=4 (was 2)
ServerIP=216.198.139.92 (was 66.174.95.132)
ServerPort=8889 (was 888

Cabs Installed (I realize some of these may work against each other)
lllboredlll_VZW_GPS_Fix_v2
PPST1.46
Serf Telus aGPS

"Titan GPS Fix" http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...me=TitanGpsFix

So I'm getting a little chafed and feel like I'm running around in circles.

I'm trying to get it to work with DCD 4.1.2, but I have the same problem I did with the stock VZW 3.57.605 and with the PPCkitchen 6.5 21501; HTC GPS Tool keeps looping the following five lines:
$GPGGA,,,,,,0,,,,,,,,*66
$GPRMC,,V,,,,,,,,,,N*53
$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,*32
$GPVTG,,T,,M,,N,,K*4E
$GPGSV,1,1,00*79

I would really prefer to use 6.5 since I greatly prefer it to 6.1, but I might sacrifice it for GPS use.

Thanks all!

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

stop dude. The bored fix is for the touch pro not the mogul/xv6800. Time to reflash and start over with the correct files. And I dont recognize that pri. I would say to follow the returning to stock thread. Then unlock and reflash custom radio and rom. Then follow thing the agps stuff in the thread below. You really should read that the files are for before you install them. You are lucky you didnt screw something up for good.

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

In that case, I think it's very silly that the Titan forums linked to those pages. I figured based on the reputations of the users that posted them, what worked for Raphael would work for Titan.

- Titan_relocker to SPL 1.04, RUU to ROM 2.09.605.8, Radio 1.30.00, PRI 1.35
- nueSPL 2.47, Radio 3.42.50, ROM PPCkitchen 6.5 21501 (PRI 1.46)
- QPST'd to 216.198.139.92, 8889, IP, PDE; reset
- Serf Telus aGPS.cab, reset
- Phone: Location On; External GPS: Program COM4, Hardware (None), 4800 baud, Manage automatically
- Installed HTC GPS Tool 1.2.2.11, reset, set to Q7500, COM4, 4800 baud, Cold Start

I found 1 satellite, but I'm in a medical school lecture hall, so I doubt I can see many from in here. I'll have to go outside to test it later.

Thanks a lot to serfboreds/joshkeller77, drewcam888 (hey, at least you can't say I didn't search enough ), and the Lord Almighty for preventing my phone from getting bricked in the process

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread

If cooking custom ROM and I want WM6.5, what are the minimum required ingredients / selections to activate Titan ROM? What do I have to add after cooking? I'm sorry, I'm not as tech savvy as most. I can follow directions, I just need to know what to put in it with the cooking / custom ROM, or afterwards.

How do I identify the PRI?

I currently have unlocked Titan with Olipro 2.4, radio 3.42.50 and custom ROM of 21501 I believe with just a few add-ins.
