I wrote to E-Care and threatened to leave. Not that I would have. Sprint has the fastest 3g yet. However, after a long e-chain I threatened to leave. The part that shocked me in her response is where she quotaed liability. I have put it in bold. Read for yourselves.
--------------------------------- Dear Joshua, I am sorry you feel this way. We do not replace phones when the issue with them is a manufacturers defect. this information is provided in the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when you started service. No additional information needs to be provided to the purchaser of the phone for activation. If you wish to port out please contact the other service provider for assistance. Thank you for using E-Care, and have a great day! Brenda Y E-Care Sprint "Where our customers come first!" Original Message Follows: ------------------------ Dear Brenda I take it Sprint does not want my business and you've made that very clear. My last question is: Since I'm canceling my service. If I sell my phone on eBay is there any info I need to give the buyer for them to be able to activate the phone. I've decided to go back to T-Mobile, I'm aware of the 2 year agreement, however paying that is not a problem if I can get better service elsewhere. Do I need to call T-Mobile first to port my number or do you guys do that? It's been a fun 5 months but I think I know when I'm not needed as a customer. Thanks |

I pretty much had an unpleasent eCare experience as well. After a long back and forth, THEY THOUGHT I HAD A MOTOROLA PHONE!!!! I clearly stated I have a Mogul. They even wanted verification info to go into my account....which says I have a Mogul.
WTF! Now, not only do I have to wait until 2008 for an update to make my phone work...maybe....now I have to wait til probably next year for eCare to pull their heads out of their asses to even figure out what phone I have before they can even help me. <sigh>

Thats when she retorted back with the policy quote. It just felt kinda cold. If Sprint truly enforces manufacturer hardware defect policy then why do they have service centers. It seems like the policy is more like 'we will try to fix it but if we can't you are on your own". I am going to send this over to exec escalations. Only because I feel they should make up their mind where they stand. |

I have to agree. We do represent a very small percentage of Mogul users in the US. I mean, most people use their Smartphones as a planner. Sure, some get internet, but honestly some folks just don't. So how likely is the general public to log on to HTC's site and download that update? I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for this forum.
Still, you are right. Things don't change if people stay quiet. I am actually pretty surprised that Sprint is allowing some folks to exchange their Moguls out for the Touch. |

Mine worked fine too, but after new rom i started getting freeze-ups. I downgraded and everything is fine. I too have no problem with my bluetooth including doing whats listed above. Makes me wonder if there is a hardware flaw in certain productions. Anyway to use the forum to help better isolate those phones or that production line, ie, voting feature, etc.

Well, Sprint came back to me and basically said "tough shit". They wouldn't even escelate my support request. Unreal!
So I have taken getting involved in this situation to the next level. I have just filed a full official complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Office. |
