im upset not because of all the issues. im upset because I bought a product on the premise of it's advertised capabilities, namely BT, GPS, and Rev A, and it,s not going to deliver on them for mor than 6 months after purchase. that's bullshit in my book.

I called to complain. they basically told me to deal with it or bu a new phone. APAULING!!

that's horse shit. all features are required to work as specified. if it has an alarm clock then it needs to work, otherwise it's broken....mfg defect. by your logic if I buy a car and the heater doesn't work then its okay because most heaters don't work in the model you bought? that's one of the most rediculous statements I've read on this board.

This phone is never getting stand alone GPS. If you want GPS you might as well get a BT one now - no need to wait.

Ive pretty much given up on seeing GPS on this phone. In fact, I've pretty much given up on this phone.
If the Treo 800w was out right now I would switch. The touch is garbage, every other current choice is too.

So this proves the mogul does have gps but it is just disabled. The is the rumor of a rom update with rev a. and gps...just have to wait and see....

I've been thinking about this a lot...

And I don't think Sprint will ever unlock the aGPS in the Mogul or the Touch... because they know if they do, people won't use TeleNav any way, they'll figure out some way to hack it to work with other software.

Sprint won't do it if they can't make money off of it.

Bluetooth

Everyone keeps posting how their bluetooth does not work on the mogul. Mine works fine. I can connect to a laptop, use bt stereo headphones, receive calls, control volume and music tracks. What's the problem?

Good for you. Do you have the latest ROM? The latest ROM makes the d-pad stop working while BT is on and shuts off by itself.

Pre-2.16 ROMs don't have those issues, however, BT is so choppy is almosy unusuable in most cases.

I wrote to Sprint eCare to make them aware of the issues. I made no threats to sue or cancel or ask for anything for free. I just asked them what their plans were to correct these known issues. At first they offered to let me get a phone replacement through Assurion and they would waive the $50 fee. I responded explaining that I have TEP and could exchange it for free instore, but that would not fix the issue. Below is part of the email they responded back with:

I have forwarded your concern to our Technical Department and the manufacturer of the Mogul Phones. Let me assure you that the issue will soon be rectified.
They also offered me a $100 credit toward a new phone if I wanted to switch. I have no intention of switching as my main gripe with the 6800 is that it didn't come with 128mb of RAM. However, I won't sacrifice my keyboard, extra hardware buttons and wifi for 64mb extra RAM (Touch). Bluetooth will be fixed either through a Sprint update or through a custom ROM.

i think its amazing that there is 13 pages of people complaining about the mogul. i think that the people having major major issues are a small precantage compared to mogul owners with relatively no issues on there phones. i understand how frustating it can be feeling ripped off and lied to that your phone doesnt live up to its expectations but i seriously dont think its worth wasting your time to write the same thing over and over.... just copy and paste the previous gripe....lol and as far as everyone jumping on sprint or htc, honestly these companies are doing the best they can. do you really believe sprint likes the negative press. they are already losing 300k+ customers this last quarter. sprint is a business just like any other company. i am not defending sprint, but i guess i dont let things get to me that i cant change. and i am sure with all of the dedicated mogul owners we weill get this corrected soon.

Well, as long as you have that attitude, nothing will change. I don't mind the repeated gripe-posts. I look at it as rallying the troops to do something about it. And, the majority of people do have the problems...that's why the manufacturer PULLED the bad ROM. They wouldn't pull it if a "small percentage", as you put it, was having issues.

I don't know what the deal is lately. There seem to be more complaining about complaining than the actual complaints. So, allow me to be the first to complain about the complaining about complaints.......AHAHAHAHA
