Re: Phone lagging when 4G is on

Man this problem is driving me crazy. It like you have to think twice before you even think about using the 4g that you pay and extra $10 dollars for. I will write to sprint and point them to this forum. hope you guys do the same thing. if everyone write to sprint and htc maybe something will get done.

as i was reading this thread i tried turning on 4g through setting and the phone is not lagging. i removed the widget and i just started turn on and turning off 4g and it seem to be working with no problem. i will test this and will report back tomorrow.

I got this phone 2 weeks after its introduction, has worked perfectly since day one, im not rooted any only have apps installed from the app store, so...
im thinking, this phone changed personalitys for no apparent reason or 4g is a issue.

thoughts comments or anyone else experiencing the same???
by the way, took it to sprint repair store n did a hard reset....still acting the same, so they are replacing my otherwide perfect condition device as of today
thnx

parenthetically
this is with 4g not even turned on...

Re: Phone lagging when 4G is on

I also have noticed it quite a bit lately. Before when I was stock not rooted it was fine and even after I rooted it was fine. I started off using Fresh but then switched to MYN at RLS2 and it was fine on RLS3 also but ever since I upgraded to RLS4 it's been lagging like crazy with 4G on.

Re: Phone lagging when 4G is on

read post 32 and 44 for why 4g creates the lag. turning it on creates a loop in the phone. something to do with HTC software rather than 4g service by sprint.

4g is absolute garbage - Page 3 - SprintUsers.com

Re: Phone lagging when 4G is on

All I know is that this is annoying. I tried to use 4g in orlando and 1st of all the signal is so weak that 3g is faster, 2nd of all my phone becomes laggy when 4g is on. I don't know why but it is annoying and I hope this lawsuit against sprint goes through. This $10 is outrageous. I understand paying it if you have the coverage or if it even worked. My phone is rooted but with stock rom so if most evos are stock this is a bad thing. I hope the figure it out.

Re: Phone lagging when 4G is on

this is the same effect I get when I am on WiFi and go out of range and the phone switches to 3G. If I am streaming radio, it drops out. Now just imagine I am right on the "border" of my WiFi range and am stepping in an out of it. That is what you are experiencing. And that sucks!

ok, here's the update to my previous post, went to bed with the phone described earlier....woke up at 6am, tried news and it worked, then tried net and it worked did a speed test and clocked 133 up and 462 down at 6:30 am, 410 up and 186 down at noon, mean time sprint shipped me a replacement unit.....in white
my unit (in perfect shape) is black
now, why would/could a unit be so bad for three weeks, all of a sudden appear to be fine??? i dont think hardware repaired its self...net work???
and now, keep new unit just in case or send it back...

well, as it turns out, the replacement phone does the same thing my old evo did, NOTHING other than make calls sometimes....SPRINT NOW TELLS ME its a national data outage, as of 9:30 pst and dont know when it will be fixed...so i asked why didnt you tell me this prior to two hard resets and replacing a device that realy didnt have any issues all along...now, i dont know what to do, seems like all the grief started here in n/w los angeles county the same time they rolled out 4g in this area
