I get that, but you are saying to get PRI 1.40 you just go into settings and update PRL, which is two totally separate things. Doing that will not update your PRI. That is why everyone is going through all these steps, to try and update the PRI since it isn't that simple.

I guess the ROM is already pre loaded with the new PRI then. My eyesight is bad ..... almost hitting 40 yrs old...lol

word of advice to all who havent been able to get their PRI to update with ##786# (or##3282#).

keep at it and eventually it will update. i tried more than 20 times. yeah i know a bit OCD, but i now have the latest PRI and it seems that my time without signal has improved.

i have read some opinions where it is believed that the update is geographically limited at this time. others have surmised that signal strentgh is the key. so dont get discouraged or think that htc and sprint are conspiring to deny your rooted device the latest PRI.

it is out there. it does update your evo. for some like me there is an improvement to the device's function and for a change a slight reward for my OCD.

1.40 is awesome! With full reception, I got 9.9 mbs and 2.1 mbs on 3G. Take that iSuckmajornutsacks!

Before, no 4G and .7 mbs

yeah I hit 8.7 mbps last night while on 4G, and since updating the PRI I've average 5-6. it's friggen awesome.

yeah its pretty homo if u ask me...Houston has the most 4G coverage of all the states yet our speeds suck ass...i get all 3 bars when downtown, but do a speed test an i only get 2.7kbps down/1kbps up...
