Re: generic network failure w/2.2

CDMA technology is limited to one or the other. GSM on AT&T is not. It sucks but a lot of people like CDMA over GSM. Froyo shouldn't make a difference weather or not you can send data....it's purly the CDMA technology limitation. Now what Sprint means by doing data and calling...well it only works when you have 4G signal and you have it on. 4G allows data during calls...unfortunatly 3G doesn't. Try turning on your 4G and do it again...I bet you it will work.

The one thing I feel I'm lacking..

.. is the ability to upload from the browser. That uploads disabled thing sucks. We get full flash but I wonder why they didn't add this.

Issue after Froyo Update: No internet

After yesterdays update I was using the Evo with no issues. After a full days use I can no longer access the internet. Launching the stock browser I get the standard web page not available screen. Mobile network is active and always enabled is also selected. On the wireless settings screen the mobile network always says, "Turning On". It has yet to turn on and stay on. I've restarted the phone numerous times and issue is still the same.
Another thing I noticed was that the phone became hot and the battery drained from 95% to 13% in less than 2 hours with NO USE.

Has any one experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

re: FroYo 2.2 Update -- Bugs & Issues

I installed the update around 1am. I didn't backup or hard reset. I'm experiencing the camera bug. Apps that want to use the camera don't seem to work unless I use the LED flashlight for a sec. I've also noticed a laggy interface and the battery draining much quicker. Finally, I can't connect to the internet if I have wifi enabled but I am not connected to that network. It doesn't look for the 3G data connection or something. As soon as I disable wifi, the connection seems to work.

Anyway, I'm sure someone smarter than me will figure this all out.

After I updated my evo with the sprint ota update, my evo won't recognize my gmail password. Is anyone else having this problem. I tried to send an email, but it didn't go through.

Re: Anyone can't log into Gmail after Sprint Froyo update?

I dont' know what happened but when i went into desiginated "mail" app on my phone (not "gmail" the gmail app worked fine) it wouldn't allow me to log in. (i kept getting an"unauthorized.... please check username/password" message. But they were both correct and all the Imap setting were correct. but it still kept sending me that error message. I went to my gmail account (via my pc) and did some research. it said something about "if the issue persists: try clearing the CAPTCHA" I clicked on the "clearing the CAPTCHA" link and it reset something. It made me log back into gmail, (via the pc) But whatever it was, that worked. I now can log into gmail throught he designated mail app in my evo. If anyone else has this problem that is how to fix it.

in short:
1. log into gmail, (via pc)
2. then navigate to: "Gmail › Help articles › Other ways to access Gmail › IMAP › I'm having trouble logging in with my username and password"
3. click the "clearing the CAPTCHA" link in the middle of the page.
4. And retry to login to mail via ur evo. and viola...
