Unable to update to 2.2, unable to update profile
I am trying to update to Froyo, but when I hit HTC Software Update, it just sits on the "checking" screen. I also found that if I try to update profile I get the error message:

"The application HTC DM (process com.htc.android.omadm.service) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

I tried downloading the update to my PC, then stuck it on the storage card as update.zip, and tried to go into recovery mode, but it just gave me a screen with a red triangle with an exclamation point.

I called Sprint and they had me restore the data profile, but it didn't work. They basically said they could not support me because the 2.1 version I had was current and they showed no record of the 2.2 update.

Please help.

hold volume up and then the power button.... That worked for me....

Doesn't work. When I do that then go to the recovery menu it just locks up the phone.

I am running the stock sprint ROM by the way.

where did u d/l the update?

u should do a wipe/factory reset then d/l the update to ur phone and install it from there

just wondering why arent u rooted?

as soon as you get to that part. hold the volume up button and power button. release the power button and keep holding the volume up until you see the blue text...

factory Rom or root 2.2
cannot go back to original rom bootloader version error. adb error device offline

i updated to the "unofficial" 2.2 and my phone went crazy after about 2 days. now im trying to go back to 2.1 (or version 1.47.xxxxxx) and my computer cannot seem to connect to my phone. is there anyway of flashing back via the sd card?
