Re: How Best Buy screwed me Over with my Evo.

I had a similar issue with a TV about a month ago - I asked directly for the store manager - my problem was a conflict between Geek squad and Best Buy - each pointing at the other.

I remained friendly, asked the manager for her name, store number, district office and district manager - I explained I would be writing a long letter to the district manager describing my incident completely - I also told the manager I would prefer a nice letter that might make her look good with corporate.

I spent 1.5 hours in the store but got what I wanted, a simple exchange for a new TV because the old TV (4 months old) would not power on.

Screaming and hollering makes you feel good - but Best Buy is waaaaaay used to that tactic. Being nice, explaining everything up front works for me about 98% of the time whether it be Best Buy or an Airline.

call the manager, and get the regional manager's number, they will more then likely take care of it, if not just keep going up.

I remember, probably would have called corporate and gave them hell (if necessary).

Re: How Best Buy screwed me Over with my Evo.

Wow thats BS man. I had my Evo for about 2 weeks fully rooted it and flashed a rom when I noticed I had a very small section of the screen maybe about 2mm long starting to lift and show light. So I called the BB where I bought it from and told them the problem and they said they would gladly exchange it but they didn't have anymore. But they could take me info down and give me a rain check over the phone so that I wouldn't have to drive all the way over there. Which I was REALLY surprised they offered to do that and save me the hassle of driving over there. They said I would be the 21st person on the list and they would call me once it came in. I asked if it took awhile to get mine and it was past the 30 days would it be a problem. They said no problem at all they would just over ride it. So after hanging up the phone I figured great I'll be waiting a month or more to get a replacement. A week later I happened to be driving by the BB and figured let me give them a call to check the status of my replacement. I gave them my name and she said she was just about to call me to come in and pick it up. I was thinking "just about to call me" what BS, but whatever I'm getting my replacement. Went in and had it swapped out in 10 min with no hassle at all. They were super nice and courteous. So not all BB are bad. I've actually delt with other BB with my TP and wifes Palm Pre before as well with the same good results. Bummer you are going through that BS. Have you tried another BB?

Re: How Best Buy screwed me Over with my Evo.

Biofall, did you buy it in your own name, and start or extend a contract that is in YOUR name? If so, PM me. However, if you are on a family plan or something, I can't offer any legal advice. I don't want to post it here because you have told me something in private that may help you, if the above conditions apply.

Re: How Best Buy screwed me Over with my Evo.

I received mine from BB as well, got tired of waiting for stock for my replacement so I emailed: jerry.adriano@sprint.com... My emailed listed the problems I was having with the phone: i.e.

" frustrating to receive a bill when my phone is not working correctly. My problem with this phone started with the screen lifting: After 4 days of ownership...took it in stride when a sprint representative advised I had to return it to my point of sale, Best buy. However ... several weeks and there is no inventory...
Impounding issue was the Sprint release update on June 29th. < very important to mention sprint played a role in the phone issues> After updating my phone...a full charge will last about 2 hrs in sleep mode.. the screen at times becomes unresponsive.. lag in responsiveness... music skips".

Needless to say, received an email from Jerry the next and a replacement unit
( new ) from sprint 2 days after.

Worth a try if you are still waiting on a replacement
