Re: Root new OTA with 4 clicks!
any problems with 4g after using this method? i remember seeing one person mention it on xda, but don't know if that was just coincidence. Or anything else this might break? Bout to root, so just want to make sure. thanks.

No problems everything working fine for me, after rooting with this method I followed these steps for a stock ota for rooted users http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915 then went on to flash some custom roms

Re: Root new OTA with 4 clicks!
I have a series of questions before I try this.
1.) After running this program, can I return to OTA 1.47.651.1? If so, will I retain root? Do I need to have a copy of OTA 1.47.651.1? 2.) What mode of Sync do I need to be in? I know I place the USB in Debug but do I connect as Disk Only, Charge or HTC Sync. I am asking this because, for some reason, I am unable to sync to my PC. The sync app starts on my EVO and tries to connect but eventually fails. I used to be able to synch but have not been able to tonight. I will wait for a little more clarity before I try this. Thanks |

1 - yes you will have a rooted copy of OTA 1.47.651.1 but you must download one and have it ready. Do a Google search or I think OMJ has the rooted version I used.. sorry not at home to check 2- Charge - Also go to the HTC Website and get the latest HTC Sync I had the same issue you had prior to rooting Follow all his directions and the help ppl give in the forums and all should be well. If your phone has problems being recognized a fellow xda guy said open up a browser window then close it and all will be well. He was right... From beginning to end took bout an hour to do plus I watched youtube vidz on what to do as well I strongly suggest when you get to the recovery part you do a NAND Backup it saved me |
