Re: Touch Diamond release date!
believe it or not there are many that don't want a hard keyboard, me being one of them.
I am going from a mogul to the diamond and I will not miss the keyboard at all. Given i would love to have more than 4gig of memory but hey, i can live with the 4gig. To each is his own.

Re: Touch Diamond release date!
I've been wrestling with which one to get for quite some time. The only reason I wanted to Touch Pro was for the keyboard. I've tried to use different on-screen keyboards and I just don't get the speed and accuracy of a slide out (i have a ppc-6700).
The one thing that I don't like about the Touch Pro is the size. I really would like to be able to keep my phone in a pocket. yes, I can do so with both my 6700 and the Touch Pro, but it does add considerable bulk to the pocket area. I downloaded the HTC Diamond keyboard for my 6700 and I have to say, I actually like it better than Touch Pal or the other options, it's exactly what I need, not too much and configured the way I would use it. So, that sealed it for me, Diamond it is. It also means I can replace my old 6700 a month earlier! And since it's cheaper than a Touch Pro, I can add a Bluetooth headset without feeling too guilty. ![]() |

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread
Nah, I wouldn't take it like that. It's obvious that you're just very eager to get the phone and your persistance is something that not a lot of people would have.
Main thing here is, not sure if you've ever worked in CS (Customer Service), but 1st tier reps (the first people you speak with, chat with, etc...) are always the LEAST likely to have concrete information along the lines of what you were trying to find out. They can only report what's put into the database (literally, whatever is in front of them), but it's the responsibility of the people above them to make sure that what is being indicated in the database is accurate. In this case, it was obviously not a "high priority" to change the database to indicate anything different than the initial 9/2 release date. I rarely get disappointed when things don't go as initially planned, but in your case, at least you know the "new" date that's being given and the delay wasn't a "TBD" delay. |
