Diamond Release Speculation Thread

For what this is worth I just got replied 50 minutes ago from Sprint.I asked if SEP 2nd is still the release date for the diamond. They said "Sep 2 is STILL the planned release date" Well.. so far sooo good.

I guess what I dont understand about the whole thing is that I work for Best Buy, and we get the iPhone on 9/7. Now I am not saying the iPhone is better but after being on the market for no longer then they have, the have became the #1 selling smartphone. With Best Buy releasing this its going to make Att blow up. They will gain a ton of new customers because of having a national retailer selling them. Why would Sprint risk that by not getting this out in a time line that will be compettitive. They lost over 6 million customers in the last year, why risk lossing more because they will have quicker access to the iPhone without all the waiting. Plus as cool as the Instinct is, it for sure is no iPhone. I like my HTC phones but if the iPhone plans were not as expensive as they are I would for sure think of it. (I am not though) Sprint get your head out of your A$$ and get this phone out ASAFP!

Dude, my sister works at the sprint campus. She's one of the major players of this particular department. The 14th is the date. Period.

I was pleased to have a chance to play with a Diamond at a Telus store yesterday. Looks like a nice package to me although I really like the look of my Touch more. I am a Bell user and not willing to convert to Telus as they want a LOT more for unlimited internet use than Bell.... about $20 a month more but I will be purchasing 24 Diamonds for the use of the staff at the government office where I work. The CAO of the municipal government where I work is a total geek and allows me to explore new technologies to better improve the services we offer our ratepayers.

The only complaint I would have is.... where is the colour? I prefer some colour in my menus and have never been fond of the black screen look at all.

By default I will be getting a touch to replace my Mike phone for work... and I look forward to that time... as for personal... I will be sticking with my Touch for another 2 years while my plan is in place with $7 a month unlimited internet service.

I thought the price difference before rebate was about $50... but now after rebate the price difference is $80... so they aren't elligible for the same amount in rebates? That's a d!ck move by sprint!

I can also confirm that inventory updates this morning say the diamond will be available for direct ship the 14th. Looks like were finally gonna get it!
