I just received an email from our Sprint Business Rep. Take this for what you want. It might mean that it will be released Sept. 2 or it might not. Here is what he had to say:

I don't think that the release is delayed. If you believe the leaked Sprint documents with the Diamond pricing, it states that there will be a release presentation on Sept 2nd. I think that means that the internal Sprint release will occur that day with pricing and an actual consumer "release date" announced for later in Sept/Oct.

Just my two cents. Probably what was planned all along... we were just being too optimistic.
