Re: Launch postponed!!
No, I just wanted to know if Sprint ever gave an official release date to the public and I thought this was the most appropriate thread to ask it in.

Is Verizon releasing the Touch Pro before the Diamond? Reduced spec?
Hey guys... ive been damn upset about this very weakened version of the Diamond that Verizon is releasing vs the stock/Sprint version. Ive been trying to figure out why... is it to save money? is it to save US money and sell it for much less (maybe $200 with contract or upgrade elegibility?) is it because of programming issues?
Then i ran into something that most people might know already, im not sure. In an article on Today.com from Aug12 they list the Raphael being released in the UK as the Touch Pro version with a keyboard. So does this mean that possibly maybe the Raphael being released in the US is the same model and maybe Verizon is possibly skipping they non-keyboard model? I would think not at first, why not release a lighter thinner model? But then i thought that the Touch for verizon sold horribly, and the 6800 is still for sale in some stores where the 6900 is being taken down and was skipped altogether by some VZW stores. I know the Touch left a sour taste in Verizon and Verizon users mouths. It did mine and a lot of Verizon employees and managers didnt like the Touch at all. Not having a keyboard was a big complaint, (and maybe a scape goat at this point) and after only 2 months of it being in my local official VZW store it was taken off the shelves and didnt look like it was ever there. Ive heard of stores taking the Touch off the shelf while the 6800 was still available, im sure if Verizon compares sales of the 6800 to the 6900 they will see a big difference. I think their are a lot of reasons behind that; the release of the 6900/touch was a year late, the exterior they chose changed the black rubber to a thin white plastic that looked like it would snap if gripped to hard, the Touch seemed easier to break or scratch then most phones (and even most pda phones) but they made the problem worse by using that material and that color. The standard black rubber exterior at least seemed like it would help absorb the shock from a drop the verizon model looked like it would break into a million peices. Maybe theyre either only releasing a keyboard model OR are putting a bigger emphasis on the keyboard model and possibly releasing it first? Or is this old news? Re: Does the (verizon) Raphael include a Keyboard? source
Raph has the keyboard, diamond does not.
If they release the "raphael" without a keyboard, its not a raphael, its a diamond. Whether they release both is unknown, and irrelevant (who really wants to pay VZWs rates?)

Stripped down versions?
I noticed you mentioned being upset about the Verizon HTC Diamond having slightly "weakened" features in comparison to the specualted Sprint version.
If you read the thread on that; http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=34027 Also a chart and comparison originally here; http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/More...le-a_3021.html You will notice that the Verizon's HTC Raphael version is also slightly "weakened" than what Sprint will be offering as well. -CC
