The one thing that I don't like about the Touch Pro is the size. I really would like to be able to keep my phone in a pocket. yes, I can do so with both my 6700 and the Touch Pro, but it does add considerable bulk to the pocket area.

I downloaded the HTC Diamond keyboard for my 6700 and I have to say, I actually like it better than Touch Pal or the other options, it's exactly what I need, not too much and configured the way I would use it.

So, that sealed it for me, Diamond it is. It also means I can replace my old 6700 a month earlier! And since it's cheaper than a Touch Pro, I can add a Bluetooth headset without feeling too guilty.

I'm confused. You have a 6700 right now, correct? That's bigger than the Touch Pro, so I don't get why your issue with the Touch Pro would be the size? The 6800 (Mogul) was even smaller than the 6700.

Can you elaborate? I just want to make sure I'm understanding where your logic is coming from.

Also, in case you hadn't seen the specs, the Diamond is only going to be 4mm thinner than the Touch Pro (since they added the bigger battery to the CDMA Diamond).

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread

haha actually i kind of do. i work IT/over the phone computer help at the World Bank. i deal with people all the time on the phones and there are alot of times where servers go down or for some odd reason this program doesnt work with that program types of things. or just over all people dont understand alot of things and get extremely upset about it. i feel the pain.

only reason i posted anything at all was because i got the off the wall date given to me instead of what everyone else got

As far as "leaked" info goes, it doesn't get much clearer than that.

Edit: Here's the third one: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=815

Again, it doesn't get much better than that... of course the dates could still change. Sprint can do anything they want since none of these dates are "public"...just leaked.
Just an FYI about that wmpoweruser info, I think they took my post as "actual concrete information," when in fact all I did was google search for Samsung Rant. Check out my post on Sprintusers on 8/30.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread

drex, fair enough... I wasn't even really concerned with the text... just the two images that show the Touch Diamond in mid-September and the Touch Pro for next month with a date.

It doesn't get much better than a photo, screenshot, or scan of some supposedly internal Sprint info....that's the point I was trying to make...

Right after that I got off the phone with someone really high up at Sprint and they indicated that a final date really still hasn't been set. the 14th is a goal... then if that fails the end of the month is the next goal.

Oh, no, I definitely understand what you were doin' quarky. I actually should've taken your name off the "quote," but completely forgot.

Just wanted to make sure people understood that some of these sites are pulling information from wherever they can, just to be part of the "in-the-know" group.

Even a simple post that I made (that had no connection on the inside) became part of their "inside information."...LOL.

Funny how the internet can be.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread

Ok, I know I posted this question on another thread, and didn't get a straight answer so here goes. I am about 3 months into my sprint SERO contract and I have a RAZR V9m. I want to know how much it is going to cost to get a diamond, In my hands on a SERO plan. I don't think I could stomach $500 some dollars in a phone, but I am willing to pay up to $400. How much does it cost to buy this phone outright? will I get and rebates? If anyone caould please explain this that would be great, as I am sure many others are wondering the same thing.

From what I've read, and I'll be attaching the pics, the diamond is going to require the Simply Everything or Text/Talk/Data plans (same ones the Instinct requires). I think this is a baaaaaaaaaad move on Sprint's part. I know based on this, I won't be getting it now, as I'm not letting my retention plan go for it.

Here's the scans of the price tags (taken from sprintusers).

I find this hilarious. No where has this ever been posted with a credible source, but people still try to spread it as truth.

The part in the tags about needing to be on one of those plans is so you get your rebates. If you don't want your rebates, just buy the phone and keep your old plans. It's that simple.

Re: Diamond Release Speculation Thread

Those pics state a data plan over $25, SE is $100, as long as you got a data connection plan over $25 your still eligible.
