If you look at the leaked slide showing the price, it says that the "Launch Presentation" is Sept. 2nd. That leads me to believe that it won't be available until sometime after that date, not on that date.

And yea, I really wanted this thing but I don't know if I can stomach $550 on a phone that's not even the top dog. If the Diamond is $550, how much will the Pro be? $800? The Mogul (which the Pro would be the successor to) is only $550.

Theprice showing up in our system as of right now for the 6950 is showing $549.99. This is before any rebates. It will at least have a $150 rebate and if it follow all the other PDA's, Smartphones, and Pocket PC's then it should get somewhere between $150 and $250 instant with a $100 mail in rebate. This all an assumption with the exception of the full price. This should put the price of the phone around that of the 800W and Mogul after all rebates, $249.99 - $299.99.

That's two different reasons why the Diamond will be delayed. It doesn't matter one way or the other to me. I'll be getting it when it comes out, but it won't break my heart if I have to wait a little longer. My Mogul is still very capable, and is still better than most other phones out. The only thing I would like to see is some kind of proof, which neither this thread nor the one at SU has provided. As far as I'm concerned, these threads are just as speculative as all the other pre-release threads that get started.

Have you been an advocate before? It's rarely a month before the launch of a device, and more often than not, the device has launched before the trainings. Take the Treo 800w for example. We actually had them in store before our advocate got his.

Not to mention October isn't even in the playbook yet. It only goes for the current month and maybe a week ahead. So you are probably looking at September 19th, which would roughly be two weeks after the original launch date.

Your math is just straight flawed anyway, the trainings were originally scheduled for the 19th and 20th, with original launch coming 9/2. That's two weeks apart, not a month. Where are you getting October from?

Edit: One last thing, I've actually talked directly to the guy in charge of the launch of this device, and his exact words from my inbox are "No launch date is settled yet, so look for a note with the details". If the training is the 3rd and 4th, a month later would be the first week of October, not the 19th.

Wow, whats with the price *****ing?
Mogul was $550, touch was $500. +50 for VGA, RAM, formfactors, etc is NOT a big increase, especially with the currency changes since then.

Although as I recall, the mogul launched for business and telesales on june 10th (july?)
