Diamond Release Speculation Thread

This was an official e-mail from Sprint Corporate to all managers notifiying them that the HTC Diamond release has been postponed and to cancel an all hands on Advocate training call. I re-confirmed with my regional manager and his manager Playbook has an October 19th release date on it so... you do the math.

If you're referring to the sheet that has the price of 299 and the Sprint specs, it says the phone launch date is "Coming in September", and the Sept 2 date on the sheet is labeling the "Launch Presentation". I'm not saying this is inconsistent with a Sept 2 release, just that it doesn't necesarily mean the release is the 2nd, just a presentation. It could be an internal presentation in advance of release.

Believe me, I hope I'm wrong about the delay, but I have multiple confirmations on this.

I'm not trying to create a conflict, but I'm going to believe an e-mail sent out by Sprint Corporate over anything my manager/district manager/reginal manager has to say. Again, the e-mail reads that the HTC Diamond's original release date is postponed and our Advocate training which almost ALWAYS happens a month before a phones release has been pushed back two weeks. That puts the release right in the October 19th time frame if according to play which also coincides with the date in the Managers Playbook. Again, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm as physched as the next person especially since I'm advocating the phone.

So on that note, I think google doesn't have a useable answer for this question, or perhaps I am phrasing the question wrongly.. Personally I am back tracking all the "release" dates on the Mogul and the Touch, to see what the trend was on those and apply it to these releases.

Hopefully, the reason for this cancellation was to consider selling the phone at a more competitive price point.

I hope so!!! And I hope if it comes out oct 19th the touch pro comes out the same time. This waiting thing is Krayz !!!

I posted a few weeks ago that the release date was showing the 19th of October along with three other phones and everyone has been throwing around the 2nd of September and so forth but I have seen nothing change. I have seen the same email showing that the advocate program was pushed back a few weeks and I have also verified that the release date on the playbook is October 19th. Things may end up changing but everything is still showing the 19th just as previously stated in this thread.
