I went in to my local BB to see what they knew.
Didn't know, didn't want to look.
But they had cleared out a space for a new phone in their Sprint display!
I'll be hoping for the 28th, but will live with the 2nd.

Whichever the release dates end up being would BB have it the same day as Sprint?
Second question... would BB's price be better or same as Sprint? IE do they honor the MIR as an Instant rebate or some other such trick?

Confirming the Sept 2nd date for the product launch. I was at the local repair store (my mogul had a bad call button) and since I had to wait a long time, I chatted with one of the sales guys. I mentioned the Diamond and Touch Pro. He said there was a big launch Sept 2nd and that they were all told they couldn't take vacation that week. He then went to read the launch info from the screen (I couldn't see it) which stated the Sept 2nd date again.

He didn't see any mention for the Touch Pro (Raphael) though

sweet, so does this mean sprint stores will definitely have the Diamond stocked and ready to sell on the 2nd?

I've never heard anything about not taking vacation that week. Matter of fact, I AM taking vacation that week, and I'm even the advocate for my store.

Tell them to look in their system for model# MP6950. It's in there with an 8/17 release date. They'll be able to look at their (and other district's) stores for stock status (all = 0 now), and later for in transit status.
