Just call them.

I live in Indiana, went to my local store, got an intelligent and helpful clerk, got the info I posted. I'm in Dallas on business this week, called a couple of stores, got the same info over the phone. (In al cases, the clerk knew it was coming someday, but was surprised to find it in the system)

The HTC Diamond launch has been postponed. I didn't get a concrete date, but our Advocate program was supposed to start yesterday and today and instead I got an e-mail stating the program has been pushed back two weeks. Looks likes an October release afterall. I'll post a picture of the e-mail later. Sorry everyone...

I just got back from checking my local Sprint store, and the manager said the release was just pushed back. He's estimating a "couple weeks". Being disappointed and wanting another answer, I went to another Sprint store, and the manager there said it was just pushed back, but didn't have a guess as to the release. Both said that training was scheduled for yesterday (they were both scheduled to get the Diamonds a week early), and the training was canceled and has not been rescheduled yet.

Bummer news, but it's still coming, just not sure when.

Oh, and one did say he saw the device in person from a rep, and it does have the red/burgandy back.

The actual release date is September 2,2008 per Sprint Ad Paper.

im so confused, maybe the sprint managers wvufan is reffering to, thought that the release date was on the 28th.

I just received a text from a local regional manager and he confirmed the diamond is still due to release on the 2nd and the touch pro about a month later.

just came from my local sprint corporate store, asked if the diamond is coming out sept. 2nd. The rep smiled, winked and said they're not allow to say. Guess we just gotta wait it out.

They were both very sure that the release would not be until after Sept 2. It is definitely delayed, they just aren't sure how long. Perhaps it is only our region (Metro DC), but both store managers gave me very similar responses with no coaching from me, so I feel it's pretty legit. Both were very aware of online speculation, as they were both dying to get the phone. They also said they only received the information about the delay today.
