Diamond Release Speculation Thread

Your math is just straight flawed anyway, the trainings were originally scheduled for the 19th and 20th, with original launch coming 9/2. That's two weeks apart, not a month. Where are you getting October from?

Edit: One last thing, I've actually talked directly to the guy in charge of the launch of this device, and his exact words from my inbox are "No launch date is settled yet, so look for a note with the details". If the training is the 3rd and 4th, a month later would be the first week of October, not the 19th.

Yes, I was the Advocate for the Blackberry Pearl. I had it roughly a month before release.
We had the 800w three odd weeks before the actual launch of the device in our store. And there were Advocates in Denver that had them before that.

The October 19th release is from an internal handset sheet my manager read and informed me about. Other than that I don't know what to tell you aside from it matches better with a release pushed back a month and two weeks from the second ( a month for Advocate program and the two week delay? ). Plus, most devices launch on a Sunday and OCtober 19th is, go figure a Sunday. September 2nd is a Tuesday... highly unlikely since Planogram is done on a Saturday for Sunday roll outs.

I'm not debating that the trainings and the release were close together, however my past experiences were Advocates usually get the phone at the latest a month ahead of the release.

Show us the e-mail?

Sprint just realized that they left MMS in the Diamond, so please be patient. It will be released just as soon as they can get MMS removed.

hahahahaha... yeah, figures... strips us of the good stuff...
even if you weren't joking, i wouldn't care too much for mms... there will always be a work around...

they probably forgot to load it with a ton of their other junk too lol

what are you talking about i can send mms, right thru my email. all i do is after the phone # i just add @sprintpcs.com or tomomail.com or what ever the phone carrier thing is. I also save it into my contacts for that person. I myself think its better that way. I can also use dashwire to upload all my pics to also, that way they are backuped......

Sending an e-mail with a picture is not MMS. If I don't know what carrier someone is on or what their carrier "thing" is, then I can't send it, and when I recieve an MMS sent from another carrier, I get a text message with a link to get on the internet to view/download the picture.

I'm glad to hear you like the way it works, but it is not MMS.

I don't know if this info is accurate as everyone has a different opinion as to whether people at Sprint know what they're talking about, but I just received this email about an hour ago.

"Dear Mr. C,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand that you wish to purchase
the HTC Diamond.

We do not have any recent update regarding the release date of HTC
Diamond. The expected date of the release of HTC Diamond is September
02, 2008 as of now.

If there will be any changes in the release date of HTC Diamond, you

I had originally told them that I had heard the launch was 9/2 but there was info online that it had been pushed back and if they had any info on a delay.
