Welcome to PPCGeeks! This is what you must do: 1. Hard reset your device. 2. After WM6 boots up and asks you to initialize your screen and set the time zone, look for the countdown ("customizing your device in 3,2,1 seconds") and immediately interrupt the carrier customizations with a soft reset. Your carrier's customizations are already built into the rom. Running them again from the extended rom screws up the registry and causes your symptoms among others. In future, please use the search function at the top banner, or even better the "search this thread" function above the first post on each page. Within this thread, you would have found many postings related to this issue with just a few key words. |

HTC Home profiles
Been running the ROM perfectly for 6 days now and the only problem I have is with the HTC Home plugin ringer profiles changing to vibrate even though Normal profile is selected and enabled. I've read in this thread to disable the profile tab but I really like the functionality. I read somewhere else to upgrade the HTC Home to the latest version, so I installed this version: http://www.pocketemu.com/download8.html
Anyone else have any insight or can point me to another thread? There seems to be 4 or 5 threads on the HTC Home plugin between here, pdaphonehome, 4winmobile, et al. FYI, it does not change the ringtones to vibrate on a meeting reminder since installing the latest version, but now when I receive a new email via ActiveSync and not everytime I receive an email. I haven't figured out the pattern yet. Thanks for the help. |

Perfect upgrade on Verizon xv6700...
This might be a helpful hint:
One thing to note: prior to running the upgrade, I gave the device a hard reset (Hash Buttons+Soft Reset) and interrupted the the customization. Then, I set it to boot loader and loaded the upgrade. It worked flawlessly, and it took less then 7 minutes (as opposed to the 20 minutes the application suggests). Could it be that hard reseting, and stopping the update before loading the upgrade increases the speed and reliability? I inherited my xv6700 from a family member who threw it in a desk draw 2 weeks after buying it (because of the performance issues). When I lost my handset this week, he offered this to me as a replacement. This upgrade has increased the responsiveness and usability of the device 10 fold! He's starting to look a little jelous for giving it up! |

i dont know if this is an upgrade issue...but hopefully someone in this forum would know how to fix this problem...I HAVE THE PPC 6700 AND WHEN I BROWSE WITH MY INTERENET EXPLORER IT OPENED UP THE FULL INTERNET, NOT THE WATERED DOWN MOBILE VERSION OF WEBSITES...NOW AFTER UPGRADING TO WM6 MY INTERNET IS OPENING UP WAP WEBSITES, FOR EXAMPLE: I GO TO WWW.MYSPACE.COM AND IT OPENS http://MOBILE.MYSPACE.COM AUTOMATICALLY...I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THIS, IS IT A SIMPLE SETTING WITHIN THE PHONE? OR IS IT A REGISTRY ISSUE?
any help would be greatly appreciated ...thanks in advance =) |

After a quick search I seem to be the only one having this problem. My 6700 has suddenly started giving me very low battery notifications. I have two brand new batteries that I have been using for several weeks with no problems. I have tried both after fully charging them in a separate charger. I no longer have a battery icon in the top right corner. The external power icon is there at all times. In the bettery application is says Main Battery: Unknown. I have also has a couple lock ups since this problem began. This morning I found the phone had frozen in the middle of the night. A soft reset brought it back to life. I have tried soft & hard resetting. I have disabled the HTC Home Plug-in. I am beginning to think it's a hardware problem. I am using an aftermarket battery but it worked fine for several weeks before this happened. I also had the problem same problem after re-installing the original battery. I guess I could survive without the battery indicator but I would want to supress the notifications. Any help would be appreciated!
