28 days later

Well maybe not quite 28 days but I loaded the WM6 pretty soon after it was available. I had some battery life and processor speed problems at first (as I posted a few weeks ago) and was considering returning to my last Phoenix C&S but decided to just do a clean install again. Stangest thing, it did actually run better after a second install. ?? I have not added any software except for VTap and I have not altered many of the settings in HTC. I have no problems with AD2P, my WAP-PSK acutally works (??) and my power consumption is a little better. I soft reset maybe a couple of times per week and it is still slower than with the old ROM but not to a degree that it problematic. I do not have 911 still.

Since I use my ppc6700 pretty much as an entainment and email tool, I am really happy. I am looking forward to a Serivce Pack that is in development elsewhere on this site. Of course I really look foward to a Kitchen.

Great work folks!

Text Messaging on Sprint PPC 6700

Don't know if anyone has asked this already but i'm having an issue with the text messaging on my Sprint PPC 6700. When i receive a text message, the first word of the messages shows up in the "From" field. The rest of the text message is in the body. Fore example: if the text message were to say "Hi how are you" if would show up in my inbox like...

From: Hi
Body: how are you.

There is no way of me telling who the text is from unless they sent a callback number with it. Has anyone else had this problem? any workarounds?

Thanks in advance.

MFAO!

@legarland: Well known issue. Read a little. If you don't like the option of reading through the thread, search a little.

I've been using WM6 since the day it came out, and over-all, i'm quite impressed. One issue I did come across was that when replying to emails or text messages, periodically, it'll cut off half the screen, making it all white. I can still type, and it goes through, i just can't see what I'm typing. It's not huge, but kind of irritating. Sometimes if I close the slider and re-open it, switching to portrait then back to landscape, it will fix it.

I did a bit of searching, with no results that I could identify, though I'm not entirely sure what I should be searching for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure why this happens though. I saw a dropoff when I went to the 1.41 radio and then again with WM6. I do notice that this OS seems to do a lot more stuff in the background. I use a program that monitors opens and closes of programs with sounds and it's much more "chatty" with this ROM than with WM5. Dunno, but that may be part of it.

I bought an 1800ma battery from Verizon and it seems pretty nice -- where can I get this program that monitors opens and closes of programs with sounds?

Also, I have not found the place to make sure that a close gets rid of programs from memory -- most programs seem to do so, but not all, but I was curious more than anything else to verify the setting.

Thanks.

I took the plunge last week and over all I've been pleasantly surprised. The install went without a hitch. I have found an issue however. Due to the fact that you can't password protect your contacts, I have my phone lock at startup and require a password after 30 mins. Any way, If I need to do a soft reset, the password screen locks up intermittedly. (The keyboard icon on the screen does not appear and since I can't type in the password, I'm stuck). After waiting for 5-10 mins sometimes the keyboard loads-allowing me to enter the password, sometimes I need to soft reset muiltiple times before it would appear. I have thus turned off my require a password, and have not had any problems as of yet. Can't wait for the service pack to be released to address the minor glitches.
