Newbie Here

Just wanted to say that this is an awesome source of information. I have learned so much in the short time I've been visiting this site.

I do, however, have a quick question. I did a search and found several mentions of the voice dialing capabillity being gone after upgrading to this ROM, but I also found a couple of posts where it looked like verizonguy might have fixed it in his version of this ROM.

Is this fix available for Alltel phones? I drive quite a bit, and I used the heck out of the voice dialing feature. I had voice tags setup for a bunch of the phone #'s in my contacts list.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please forgive me if this has been addressed already and I just missed it in my search.

Thanks in advance....

Excellent work fellas. You've taken an absolutely frustrating phone and made it at least a little bearable to play around with=D>. Donations to follow!!!

That being said, I'm running into 2 problems:
1) Since no voice dial software was installed, I installed Cyberon Voice Dialer 2.214 plus the patch that allows voice tag backups. The software works perfectly fine if I initialize it from the Programs folder or via bluetooth, but I am unable to assign it to a hard button. It shows up in the list of available applications, but when I hit the button, I get the error, "Shortcut Target: Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename." Does anyone know if I just need to hack a registry key or is this something else?

2) My phone's OEM info is nothing but a bunch of squares. For example, in both System Information and TCPMP, where the OEM info for my phone is supposed to show, there are an infinite number of squares instead of text. I've also noticed that in Device Information, the model number is blank. Is this normal?

Low Volume??

Hey folks....another quick question.

After installing this ROM, I noticed a distinct drop in the earpiece volume. I doublechecked the seetings in the PST (##78, blah, blah, blah) and they are all still set properly (13K, etc). Just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind (or my hearing), I flashed back to the OEM ROM from UTStarcom, and my volume went back up.

Is it possible that there is a registry entry that also needs to be tweaked for the volume, or am I just doing something wrong?

Any help is greatly appreciated....

Thanks

hey man you can edit the registry too turn off attenuation on the ear piece and you might get a little boost go to
hkey_current_user/controlpanel/soundcategories/attenuation
change the dword value to 0 on all the categories give it a few seconds close out the program then soft reset hope this works for you

Are you using a particular type of encryption key? You'll want to check out the bugs thread if you are using WPA:
