Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Hm, well, I'd like to keep this issue fresh on the page to see if there's anyone that can help...

I need to keep my PPC out of so-called "flight mode" in order for TomTom Navigator (which I use regularly) to try accessing Bluetooth. Even when BT is specifically enabled, TT will ignore it if it detects the "phone" is in "flight mode". But I don't want any cell functions. I don't have service and I really want to detach cell from Pocket PC. I use Bluetooth to my Verizon phone in order to get DUN internet access. Accidentally pushing those talk/end buttons is annoying.

Is there a way to save some space (, battery life, annoyance, etc) by cutting out - or at the very least disabling - those cell functions on the Apache? Seems everyone but me is really concerned with preserving cell functionaity (SMS, data, cell, etc), whereas I'm probably the only one wanting to totally obliterate said functions

You probably can remove your radio for cell, and it won't ever cause you problems again. I know there is a way to do it, just not sure how.

It is done during flashing your custom ROM.

Oh, BTW, go to http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php, and try the freeware version. I haven't tried it, but I own the full-version, and that version allows you to re-map or even completely disable certain buttons. Give them a try.

When you "installed everything on your own" what did you install? it doesn't really matter whether it's baked in or installed on your own, what matters is that its installed.

your cell radio and your bluetooth radio are tightly coupled - can't remove one and keep the other without a great deal of effort (if it's realistically possible at all)

Meaning i tried to keep it as bare bones as possible. I only had Total Command, Yahoo go, PIE plus. The flash player 7 i intalled after it was flashed on the device. I have noticed two things so far.

1. The pin pad locks up after a few hours, soft reseting does nothing. You enter your four digit pin and tap unlock it freezes. Hard reset is the only way i could fix it.

I tried to respond but in the area where you type to reply was all white in PIE i refresed the page but it still wouldnt let me. So i had to use my computer. Sucks tho.....

I have unlocked my Ext Rom, and now it is the only option under Email storage settings, is there a way to get email to use my SD card for storage? Ideally without reflashing my phone?

You would have to rehide your Ext ROM. If the Ext. ROM is visible there are a number of programs that will default to that instead.
