#1 TIP: WAIT a minute AFTER sense loads to start pounding the winkey/startmenu key. It works fine on 23xxx series with no changes, just let sense fully load everything in the background. (many issues are the result of the first boot time try, not waiting enough & then subsequent key presses… etc..

8 pp – 83 MB free, Compact Start Menu (QM)= 107 MB FREE !!! 24MB change.. OK multi-taskers.. ROCK ON
14 pp- 77 MB free, CSM= 100 MB FREE !!! 23MB change
22 pp - (default) 69 MB free, CSM = 93-94 MB free!! 25MB ch. Default (EDIT) from 6/18 redone on 6/18 ROM myself
32 pp – 57 MB free, CSM = 83 MB free 26MB change
0 pp – 62 MB free, CSM = 88 MB free 26MB change (seems to be at where a 24 pp would start)
Theoretically the “change” number should probably be the same? Less than scientific testing… rough numbers…
ME? 0 pp (zero)
WHY? 2 reasons: (my test & opinion)
1. Windows managed, suppose to dynamically allocate. In the past OS memory leak issues, and inability of OS to recover it led to many ‘out of memory’ issues across a couple OS’s, it would slow to a crawl with under 10 MB free, until rebooted. The 231xx series is ROCK SOLID on memory leaks & giving back RAM after use. We’ll see if this series can also manage the RAM itself & give it back!
2. CSM (Compact Start Menu) is giving up 25 (me) to 37MB more RAM to work with!!! Perhaps this will raise the floor so the lowest level amount of RAM (highest usage) doesn’t dip into a crippling state.
CSM ON: (start, settings, compact start menu, reboot? Y)
Undo CSM: (start, setting, Normal Start Menu)

6/18: cookie redo myself data: Pp 22 default, 68 MB @ screen dim, SD out: put in airplane mode, reboot, 70 MB free @ screen dim, 67 on pushing power button, CSM 93-94 MB free @ screen dim.. 92 2nd time

I appreciate all the work that you do, NRG - I just bought a Touch Pro 2, from a Touch Pro - with the Maxsense UI - and it does the same stuff - Hit the Windows icon - and nothing - I have to mash it 3-4 times. Maybe it's me, maybe it's Maxsense - I appreciate your rom's , what you do - But I'm done.. They rocked backed in the day...

I did the start menu disable/QM to the Sept 13 rom, and I remember you had to becareful not to lock yourself out of sense

Yep. In QM, it's under Settings > More Settings > Today

Only about two hours in, but this may just be the best ROM ever. Maybe setting PP to 0 is the difference, who knows. Either way, my Slowdium has gone back to being a Rhodium.

A couple of weeks ago, I was seriously about to give up on it and pull the trigger on an Incredible or Droid X, but now, with OC to 748 GHz, the CSM, Opera Mini 5.1, and possibly the 0 PP mod too, this thing has some legs. If this holds, I might actually be able to ride out my 2yr contract (yeah, right...).

Have any fellow SlingPlayer users noticed that the default orientation is 180 degrees off with the last few ROM builds? G-Config helps to flip it back, but it still launches upside down. Anyone know of a fix?

I'm on GTX 9/18 23xxx and the windows media DRM does not work. Anyone know if its the same across all builds, or if the 9/20 has the bug fixed? Thanks

No doubt in my mind that this is the fastest sense 2.5 rom I've installed (21916 Energy standard). The ONLY flaw I've run into is trying to get the long press end key to lock the device. I've installed the sprint carrier cab, reflashed and task 29'd twice, but to no avail, the end key to lock device only sets it to switch between vibrate and full volume. If this single problem was solved, there would be no doubt I would recommend this rom to everyone. Simply because I'm used to having the long press end key lock my phone, I cannot keep it. If there is a cab that will fix the 9-18 rom for this issue, please let me know. The compact start menu makes an enormous difference in the speed of this device.
