Sharkie - thanks for the additional answers. I just did the hard HSPL (I guess it worked - since it went from black screen back to the main phone screen).

About to attempt the next 2 steps -

So I have 2 folders extracted - one for Task29 and one for Sharkie ROM.

There seems to be 3 executable (exe) files in both directories.
Enterbootloader.exe / RUUGetinfo.exe / Rapidtool

> just click on enterbootloader? and follow steps and hold volume down while nearing 100% as described before in the post?

Do I have to rename any files from the Sharkie folder? and Do I have to put this .nbh file into the Task29 folder too? It seems many of the other files are the same thing.

Sorry for the newbie questions, but hopefully they will be helpful for others who haven't done this before - there's a lot of information overlapping from so many posts and it's somewhat overwhelming to sift through...

There are 4 applications in those folders. The one you want is the one you didn't list. It's "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" No moving or renaming of files is necessary. Just click on "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" in Task29, when that's done and you've got it back in bootloader mode, just click on "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" in the SharkieROM folder and follow the prompts.

Okay cool Sharkie - I was kind of nervous, because it didn't look like activesync was active anymore and the LED that shows (amber) when connected disappears -

I am running the Romupdateutilities as we speak -

edit 1 : *Task29 complete - did exactly as described
edit 2 : *Sharkie ROM - 100% complete

now the process as to what's happening :
I see the shark splash > touch pro 2 (a few minutes) > amber light just turned on (30 seconds~) > ok htc splash (fast) > bigger sharkierom splash - active sync just connected > now updating progress bar > progress bar completed 1x > now new progress bar is starting > I turned my head for a minute and I believe a 3rd progress bar is loading (not sure if this was #2 or #3) > next progress bar loading > okay rebooted > disconnected active sync > windows phone splash > sharkie splash > active sync active > start menu active

Cool! I will give you my opinions and thoughts in a day Sharkie - thanks so much for your patience with my inquiries - I have owned this TP2 with Sprint Stock ROM for exactly 1 year so I will be comparing your ROM to how it has been in the past.

Okay and got the sprint cabs updating - see profile and prl in settings > system menu. both updates successfully worked.

Also * Airvana (Sprint's antenna-broadband signal booster) is working for both phone and 3g. Cool.

1st impression - have to get use to what sounds are what

2nd question - on ring tones - all the standard ring tones are gone huh?

I think you will like it. Like Sharkie I have an Evo now but this was so much better on my TP2. Which is now my girlfriends. I personally liked to overclock a bit for that optimal experience. You might look into that or just leave it alone. Have fun!

PS Sharkie you should look at the Ginger Sense Roms...I think they're great. Not 3.0 but the hybrids like Aamikam's or Myn's when it's out of beta. Very nice.

Hey Sharkie (or anyone) I'm not sure what I may have clicked on the phone - but I can't seem to get my home screen showing - all I get is this "HTC logo and launching sense" - I can go to start and settings,etc but can't get to the home screen anymore. I tried soft resetting and also powered down but after the sharkie splash - it keeps going to the launching sense thing -
any ideas?

Did Sense ever load when you first flashed? Assuming it did, what was the last thing you did before it started to not load. You realize that it takes longer than a stock ROM to load because of have CHT installed...

I accidentally hit the multimedia icon on home - and then the player loaded up
I didn't know how to close it, and there was something to the left that I hit and then I suppose this launching sense came up.

I tried rebooting / took the battery out - but no home screen, just as it was described in previous post - at the bottom is just calendar and contacts. Top shows the windows icon which I can click and goes to all the "start >" options and the clock, 3g(EV) and antenna strength are all showing. In the middle is just "HTC, and below that - launching sense".

And I am not sure if I noticed sense loading up right after flash.

It's been almost 3-4 minutes since the phone has been on - before the Home screen would show (after installing sharkierom) within a minute or less.

I'm not sure what the multimedia icon on home is or at all what happened. You can also try uninstalling CHT, that may help if by multimedia on home you mean the music player widget. Have you tried going into home settings in the start menu and deselecting sense, then reselecting it?
