I've been thinking that I would like to include some sort of navigation app in the Generic ROMs. I've always only used the Sprint Navigation app. It just occured to me the other day that I don't have one in the Generic versions.

So, can I get some suggestions on what nav app I should include in the Generic ROMs, or is Google Maps sufficient for everyone's needs?

i think google and bing are as best as it gets unless you go the garmin/igo/tomtom etc. route

every once and awhile ill install waze on my phone just for f-ing around but i dont think there is anything better out?

just installed the settings icons and they look great.

but the overlay png didnt take...used resco and yes to overwrite then soft reset.

ok there i have more info involved...they htcvol control png i posted above (that didnt need re colored) was in a cab i always installed but ever since you fixed the 'sub' volume (way back when...now you have that 2nd overlay png) i would install cab and the regular htc vol would be fine but it would mess up the overlay png. so i thought maybe it was the cab, so this time i extracted the cab but it was only the 1 png so i overwrite it to windows and everything was fine both vol pngs (just the color didnt match)

so that might help... but overwite of the png you posted did the same as the cab, weird. hope its something simple ill post cab and ss in a min...dont worry bout the blank screen, i was watching you tube vid but you can see on the left (top actually being in portrait) the vol didnt take

I actually have had the best "functional" use with Microsoft Bing. Its (as far as I know) the only NAV app that will give spoken directions as you drive. Google Maps doesn't have that function as far as I know. If anyone can suggest another FREE turn-by-turn spoken direction GPS NAV app then please let me know. Thanks.

Just unzip it to \Windows and soft reset. It's in the kitchen too. Thanks again!

Nice Simple look, I like it. I'm working on a 'working' vista blue volume skin cab for you too, fyi...

It worked fine for me. If it doesn't work for you, you may have already messed with the files too much and screwed things up beyond repair. You may have to hard reset to fix it... Just a thought. Hopefully it works!
