Notification bug on 6.5.3 b6. When an alarm notification is displayed at the bottom of the screen, there's no "dismiss" button. It was there on prior releases.

I can still select the menu option for "dismiss all", but it will also nuke any other alarms I've got lined-up.

Also on B6, the text message addressing is quirky. If I start to type a name, I get no suggestions. After typing 3 or 4 characters, I can backspace/delete and the list of suggested names shows-up. Weird.

ARe there any GPS tweaks in this ROM to help with the lag problem? If not, anyone recommend a .cab for that? I know there are a couple of them out there and not sure which is best (maybe they're the same??dunno). I rather suspect Malatesta has built them into the ROM as he doesn't seem to miss much. I really like his ROMs. I sent my donation in pretty much at the beginning.....

oh of course GPS tweaks are in there, lol, including the one that doubles the polling, which takes a little more battery but in turn gives more accurate location data, especially when moving.

I used the GPS yesterday and didn't notice any lag, but if anyone finds that they still have it, pipe up and I'll adjust!

once again, mine locks without that cab but i put it in from habit. when i post stuff i hope im not acting like it fixes your rom, im just sharing. gps locks are odd at times, weather/location ect.

I have about a 2 second or so lag in IGo8. No problem locking, however. It seems like IGo8 was a little more accurate before...... The lag is worse in Sprint Navi or Google Maps, but I expect that.

I will try the Sprint Cab as well, thanks!

Please excuse the noob question but is there a way to remove the bookmarks on the internet tab in the 6.5 version. I would like to remove sprint power deck, accuweather, myspace, etc... any help would be appreciated ,thanks.

tap n hold on the bookmark till the options pop up, then delete bookmark option. your done and its gone.

Yes it works on my sprint touch pro 2. Do you have a touch pro 1 or touch pro 2? If you have a touch pro 1 it will not work gotta go to the correct forum.

Well, I experienced the deaded random hard reset yesterday running MalROM 1.5b3 6.5/2.1. I had flashed straight to it from one of the other custom ROMS from here, and not going back to "stock" Sprint ROM first. The weird thing about it was that it wasn't a true hard reset- all of my contacts, messages, email were all there. Even some of the programs/cabs I loaded were still in the start menu, but wouldn't open.

Anyway, I flashed back to the original ROM today, and then to MalROM 1.5b6 6.5.3/2.1. I have a newb question about 6.5.3. Can you move the start "flag" back to the top left? I like most of the changes with 6.5.3 but can't get used to that. TIA!

wait, on opera 10? my bad, i hate opera 10 and dont use it, on all other builds it works, why are the bookmarks there, opera 10 usually doesnt come with any.

There are no bookmark in Opra 10.
The bookmarks on the internet tab open up internet explorer, but I can't find bookmarks there, either...

Is anybody have an unread text message? I just cleared all texts and it is still listing one unread text message. I'm just about to hard reset.

Also, do you guys have a problem scrolling thru touch flo? Ill land on a tab and then it will move me to a different tab.

my voicemail was showing one and i had none, try texing yourself then deleting them all to see if that helps. this was on 6.53 and notifications wouldnt stick, also now doing the notification thing on 6.5, im almost done with this, i seem to be the only one with this issue i guess.

He is talking about the shortcuts on the internet tab of Sense. Also weird that they open IE not Opera. I also hate Opera 10 and have immediately replaced with 9.7.

ya 10 blows, 9.7 loads over it fine plus you can use manila globe to launch, 9.7 i use has the zoom on bottom left also.

Ive experienced this problem on multiple ROMS, just run this file to fix it, no need to turn off anything or disable manila or any of that. Just close text messaging run this and soft reset and it should remove the extra unread message, you may have to run it a couple of times. Hope this helps.

And he;ll blame it on the ROM, not lack of reading.

Open IE, hit the star in the upper left hand corner which will open the bookmarks, and start deleting, hold down the bookmark and you can delete it or use the trash can icon.

What issue are you havin Darren? I read your post a couple days ago about but didn't understand what you meant.

in sounds/notifications, when i select for texts to show onscreen, they will for an hour then the box is unchecked somehow. not after softreset either.

I get too many text messages to keep that on screen notification anyways.

My favorite question: Is hardware zoom working for u guys? when i try it in IE my IE freezes.

Darren do you recommend using the Opera 9.5 cab you posted early on in this thread or the 9.7 cab? When you install and hit contacts, facebook, and then go to a profile does it still lead you thru IE or will it now go to opera etc? thanks for the help

I spent 8 hr going though all 120 pages of this Mal thread. Let me see if I got the main points:
1) should update hard unlocker as firmware update before upgrading rom
2) since I am Verizon, may need to install kb fix?
3) appears that rom was fast and without issues in early builds but now has the
earmarks of all the major roms, ie. freezes, wrong location of items, need for
several cab and registry fixes.
4) I liked the advice to keep the roms clear of so many programs and have optional
cab installs
5) Is there a "sweet spot" in rom building where things are just right and no longer
need to have the newest and the greatest cooked in. If they need to be added
could this not be accomplished by reg edits and cab installs ( of course I realize
new revisions of OEM drivers, dll's etc. have to be put in).

6) I would like a few user replies before I try the 6.5 rom later tonight.

no to first question, if your unlocked just flash. i think you need the kb cab(not positive) the rom is very stable no matter if its 6.5/6.53 or titanium, didnt use 2.5 but as mal states its beta. any issues with the roms are very minor imo and my issues are occuring to me alone and there minor. agree rom should be left where its at or as clean as it was in first builds. dont think your justified saying rom has issues w/o flashing it though.

1: Always make sure you're on the latest update of the HSPL, but it's easy and doesn't cause the phone/ROM to hard reset.
2: Can't help ya, I'm on Sprint
3: Has always been fast and I'm not having any issues with the 6.5.3 ROM. If you've been flashing other custom ROM's it's in your best interest to flash back to stock, clear storage, flash the custom ROM, clear storage and go from there. I used to have issues with pseudo hard resets, loosing certain app's, etc, but not all or having it lock up, haven't had one (knock on wood) since starting to flash back to stock before flashing to a new ROM. I'm not having any issues with Mal's ROM's, although I may not be using certain things or missing things that others are noting. And I think some of the reg issues are due to the ROM now being made somewhat carrier neutral and you need to add edits for different carriers.
4: Exactly...
5: I think Mal's there with keeping the ROM kinda lean and mean, but updating newer drivers, etc as you noted.
6: Flash away... you've got nothing to lose. D/L SPB backup and use the free trial, do a full backup (as long as you don't have current issues with your setup) and if you find that you don't like the custom ROM, flash back to whatever ROM you're currently on and restore the data (This is NOT recommended to back up data from diff ROM's or updates even).
